Gina Kalabishis the artist more at home in the Australian bush

There are two paintings shown in the link both titled, "If I Didn't Have Your Love (after Leonard Cohen)".

In ‘Romantica’, she captions the artworks with verses from classic poems -Kalabishis pays special tribute to Leonard Cohen- dedicated to romantic love...

Good morning, Andrew :)

When I looked at the two paintings referencing Leonard, I was thinking I would have painted them in a different way. But how everyone sees and does art is their own personal thing. Maybe when you go to this exhibition and look at the paintings close up, you will see some other connection to Leonard too. ;-)

Good morning, Bev and Andrew,
Thanks, Bev, for link.
I love the light and atmosphere of her paintings. I imagine her in the bush, listening to Leonard Cohen lyrics and melodies in her head and marvel at the far reaches of his music, even to the Australian bush.

Bev, are you also attending the show? I love to think of the two of you in your corner of the world having a Leonard Cohen moment.

Hi Anne, I like your thinking re Gina’s art. 8)

Re Bev’s attendance, she lives in Queensland, a long way from Victoria, and she hasn’t said anything to me about attending this, so I expect she isn’t… but we’ll await her confirmation of this supposition. ;-)

Cheers,
Andrew

Hi you two :)
Glad you enjoyed the link.
Ann, that's a great observation about this exhibition. And no, I'm not going to it. I haven't been to Melbourne since I went to the last LC concert there in 2013. Of all the cities in Australia, Melbourne does seem to have more LC related events. Andrew is lucky in that respect in living there.

Bev, I think you are right in your assessment of Melbourne in terms of LC related events… and indeed I do feel lucky to live here, but not just for that reason. ;-) :)
