i can't download anything from these recordings, here, in belgium. Could anyone, anywhere else, buy the whole collection of these albums for me? '69 was my first Leonard Cohen year, so the sound of these years is very special to me. Thank you very much in advance.

Was able to listen to some free previews.

Studio tracks interested me a lot since it had much SOLAH representation (my favorite album). I am sure many would enjoy hearing these. (Was always puzzled by why they used Isle of Wight live rendition of "Let's Sing Another Song, Boys" on the SOLAH album; based on what I heard on the studio versions, they made the correct choice.) There is also a version of Joan of Arc where he recites, rather than sings, everything (IMP the album version is far better).

L'Olympia concert in 1970 seemed to be of reasonable quality, unfortunately Henderson Hospital was very poor quality, probably just recorded with a tape deck and mic.

Should have previewed the poetry as he recites so well, but didn't have the time.

Maybe some people will download and post here (if that is legal). Hint!

Calvary vs. Galilee

Interesting find regarding these studio versions of Passing Though: these previously unknown studio versions show Leonard sang "I saw Jesus on the cross on a hill called Galilee", while on the version we all know and love - from 1973's Live Songs - he sings "a hill called Calvary".

Could this topographical mistake be why this studio version of Passing Through was scrapped? Since indeed the name of the hill is Calvary and not Galilee. Galilee does have a connection with Jesus: it is the name of the region where Jesus was born, not where he was crucified.

All in all, this is why these studio rarities are so exciting!!

Kind regards,

And what about LC singing “I think I’m finished for this year” as an improvisation on Sing Another Song Boys...
Fifty years ago. Magic!

Hi all

I'm echoing the pleas above: if someone would be able to buy/download/forward us the full songs, that would be appreciated! I'm more than willing to buy them myself of course, but Apple Music Belgium doesn't list them and I can transfer my account to Canada in the settings, but then it won't allow me to add payment options since my VISA, PayPal, etc... are linked to Belgium and the payment options should be from the same country as the Apple Music account... Really disappointing for a lot of us...

Contact me if you can help us out, that would be much appreciated!

thanks to everyone on this forum, not only for the help with these recordings, but for your kindness in all the years i've been strolling around here.
Especially thanks to you, Maarten, for your support, your help and for what you're doing for all of us.
I hope i can one day "pay you back" for all you've been doing.
I'm listening to "the partisan", from the Olympia 1970 concert now, and it's such a joy, hearing this song again, in this wonderful place, where LC brought us so much emotions, just some years ago.
Thank you, Maarten, and all of you ;
hope to see you all next summer in Gent

I just can refrain the words of pe swijngedouw - Thank you so much, dear Maarten!
It's the best Christmas surprise I could get this (very straining) year.

Thanks for your instant alertness and gratitude! This really made my year.

All the best for you,
Dennis

Hi Pe and Dennis

All credit should go to Tyralot for initially posting about the release on Apple Music in the first place and to our friend from Germany who was so generous to help us out in obtaining this marvelous collection where we were unable to! I was only trying to alert everyone for my personal benefit of getting this collection to Belgium :-) and by doing so helping others out aswell.

Let's hope more surprises will come our way soon!
Maarten

Wow, is there some way to access these tracks from an Spanish account?
It really looks a dream come true, the Holy Grail of a "Bootleg Series"...
Also, I'd be really interested in reading your reviews if you've already had the chance to listen to that, so we can have a feel of how it sounds and what are the hidden gems (probably all of it)...
Best wishes for 2021 and happy holiday to beautiful Cohenites out there ;-)
