My new album is on Spotfiy - https://open.spotify.com/album/7qjQYtl5XSJKD6bPE4njZ8
Or Bandcamp if you want to buy a download - https://benclayton.bandcamp.com/album/nebula

It's experimental and ambient but those with open minds might find something in there to enjoy, fingers crossed.

i see there was not too great a response to this, bennyboy, but despair not. i am sure hartmut is just waiting for the right time to give it one of his famous 'quick listens'.

Tabula Rasa is a beautiful piece. Here is Arvo Part 1, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vu1BcNeebMI

Many congratulations Benny.

If you really have never listened to Tabula Rasa, then by definition you won't ever have heard the music contained thereon.

Indeed, it is a wonderfully evocative piece, the kind of music into which one can easily be drawn and become completely lost amidst its almost otherworldly sounds.

I hereby revise my previous (and clearly erroneous) assessment of your taste in music! ;-)

Yes, Arvo Pärt is my main man and Henryk Górecki knows how to play the drums as well

Bennyboy,

Sorry that we keep hijacking your threads. I suppose that is how conversations with people go, though, isn't it?: the discussion veers off in all sorts of directions, often far from the original topic. At least we're keeping your threads active and at the top of the list, so that others may see!

As for your albums, I don't have Spotify and I don't purchase unknown music, so I have not heard them and cannot comment.

Cheers!
Lisa

Thanks, but no, I never take those kinds of drugs.

We don't do drug references here, ever. Please note

Now the cops they followed Joan of Arc
as she went tripping through the park
she tried to keep her joint alight
she planned to have a very smoky night

She said "I'm tired of this score,
I want the kind of grass I had before
Lebanese Black or something white
to satisfy my swollen appetite"

Well, I'm glad to hear you talk this way,
you know I've watched you tripping every day
and something in me yearns to sin
and share your old but wholesome heroin.

"And who are you?", she sternly spoke
to the one beneath the smoke,
"Why, I'm your dealer", he replied "
And I love your attitude, I love your side".

"Then fire, this joint is getting cold,
I'm going to give you mine to hold"
saying this she climbed inside
and gradually her drugs became all fried.

And deep into his fiery trip
he lost the rest of his reality grip
and high above the wedding guests
he floated by in her lovely wedding dress.

It was deep into his fiery heart
he took the Angel Dust of Joan of Arc,
and then she clearly understood
he'd take it all, oh yes he would.

I saw her front, I saw her back
I saw her hide a lump of crack.
Myself, I long for speed and coke,
but must I fool, and oh, must I joke?

Even though we have recently been accused of failing to acknowledge the artistic achievements of our LC Forum compatriots ("even though no morsel of praise makes a journey to these quarters", it was said, possibly by some Polish guy...), having just read that delightful bit of poetry (with no drug references, of course!), I wish to say in response: Brilliant!

How generous and graceful of you

Here's an udder, once recited to the man himself btw

There's a Bird On The Wire
shoot her, shoot her-
take my aim a little higher
time for Tweety to expire,
no more points as a Frequent Flyer

Late at night when I retire
woken by a drunk in a midnight choir
as he breathes out I set him on fire
if I said I'm sorry I'm a flaming liar

For the position that I took
I get an old-fashioned look
as I speak this pretend poetry.
But I ask, you be strong
the end, it won't be long
I have tried in my way to be twee.

Do these parodies come out when you sneeze? The "Famous Blue..." was very good, too. :D

That's Right, It's Come To This- A sweet tribute to his thieving manager

One by one, the bills arrive
The bills are coming through
The debts, they are so many
The assets are so few

And no-one knows where the cash is going
And no-one knows why Kelley is glowing
Oh Lynch, I need you
I need you
I need you
Oh…I need you now

And those who cry, begin to cry
Those who hurt begin
And “hands up, hands up” cries a voice
“let all my guns come in”

And no-one knows where the cash is going
And no-one knows why Kelley is glowing
Oh Lynch, I need you
I need you
I need you
Oh…I need you now

And Len goes stumbling through that shop
In lonely secrecy
Saying “just the money please”
Or “I’ll blow your fucking head off, you bastard, don’t you see I’m desperate, I’m quite old and realistically I won’t be doing any more touring although I don’t mind selling my drawings and the occasional conversation
With Phillip Glass
So, shift your ass”

And no-one knows where the cash is going
And no-one knows why Kelley is glowing
Oh Lynch, I need you
I need you
I need you
Oh…I need you now

All at once his nostrils flare
His trouser zip flies open
Note by note he steals it all
Like it’s going out of fashion

And no-one knows where the cash is going
And no-one knows why Kelley is glowing
Oh Lynch, I need you
I need you
I need you
Oh…I need you now

And here he eats his sweet potato
Whilst shop and gun dissolve
And one by one his teeth fall out
Beyond the guardian’s wail

And no-one knows where the cash is going
And no-one knows why Kelley is glowing
Oh Lynch, I need you
I need you
I need you
Oh…I need you now

Those who shout, begin to shout
Those who die begin
Those whose honesty is lost
Are lost and lost again

And no-one knows where the cash is going
And no-one knows why Kelley is glowing
Oh Lynch, I need you
I need you
I need you
Oh…I need you now

One by one, the bills arrive
The bills are coming through
The debts, they are so many
The assets are so few

And no-one knows where the cash is going
And no-one knows why Kelley is glowing
Oh Lynch, I need you
I need you
I need you
Oh…I need you now
