To commemorate Canada Day, Margaret Wente, a columnist with the Globe and Mail, wrote an essay about her immigration to Canada fifty years ago. I thought some members of the forum might enjoy it, as to sum up her experience, she writes: You put down roots one day, one friend, one Leonard Cohen song at a time.

The column is here: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/globe-de ... e19395240/

Thank you for posting this lovely article in praise of being Canadian....and of course learning to love Leonard Cohen one song at a time. I'm not Canadian, but from time to time have thought about living there despite the Arctic winters!
