Paris
Paris,
Where the snow falls down with style
And the men still show their pride
Where the women are hard to catch
Because love has a place to hide
Paris,
Where Cohen went on Bercy's stage
And turned another holy page
Where he opened the sacred door
To pick up love from the filthy floor
Paris,
Where the old bachelors find a date
But there's no food on their plate
They meet the ones just like them
And love will come again too late
Paris,
Where you were begging on your knees
And asking all the passengers 'please'
But for them, you were just another lie
And love turned its head and passed by
Kind regards,
Sanverp

I love Paris and could see glimpses of what I saw as I read this, Sanverp.
Especially like your first verse.

Thanks Lizzy,
I was thinking about that when I was in Paris and snow came down.
If I compared it with how snow comes down here, it is like it is sh*ting on your head
Kind regards,
Sanverp

Sanverp,
I think this is a very striking, good poem. I have read it at home and made comments but I forgot them. Next time I'll say what I particularly loved about it. But for now, yes, it's really lovely. Thank you.
Marcia

Yes, I will take a lot at more of your poetry.
(I forgot my paper with my comments so, fortunately, I'll have to look for it and get to the study the Paris poem again.)

I re-read this poem. It gets more evocative with each reading. I really like it. It's shows the charm, seduction, and poignancy too.
The form of it is elegant and straightforward, like Paris, peut-etre? And it falls like steps down to the landing. Feels just right.
The images, portraits, seem so unique to and indicative of Paris--their romance and aloof nature--yet they speak clearly to the intimacy of your personal experience. and maybe many others' intimacies there. No need to wonder why--the please, the no food, the lie--the way you told it, it answers itself.
This poem, I think, will hold up. Really nice!

I enjoy reading your commentaries almost as or as much as I enjoy reading the poems, Marcia.
Very helpful to the writer[s].
