The Hop Farm capacity is between 30,000 and 53,000, it was reported that the first night was sold out.

Wembley Arena capacity is only 12,500!

Yes.

Am I correct in assuming the Hop Farm was never sold out and a smaller venue has been chosen.

There is a difference in capacity when it comes to a seated crowd

Indeed, I was under the understanding that both were seated events.

Capacity for Hop Farm was 10,000 according to NME - http://www.nme.com/news/leonard-cohen/63834. The larger capacity was for the Hop Farm Festival (Bob Dylan etc).

I think the capacity was very similar for both Wembly and the Hop Farm.

The normal Hop Farm Festival is standing, this wasn't.

Looking at eventim, it seems that sales are great for both nights, with virtually all of Saturday gone and some towards the back on Sunday.

I know it has been a really difficult week for us all, but I think it is near enough a miracle that Leonard's management managed to find a suitable venue that was also free.

Our inconveniences would have been so much more annoying if the gigs had simply been cancelled. As I don't think they could have gone ahead at the Hop Farm.

So I am over the stress of last week looking forward to it. And it doesn't matter if it rains!!

It is a pity that this whole farrago has happened.

Am sure that the maestro will charm the Wembley Arena with the same
majesty as he did the last time he frequented London. When I saw
Len at the O2 in 2008, he transmogrified that vast,cavernous dome into
a cradle of intimacy. A magical evening, never to be forgotten. Reading
reports of the current show, look like a similar evening of heavenly
music will be savoured. Fantastic.

I do hope though that the management/promoters of the show have read
some of the less than flattering comments on the Facebook page. There will
be some people who won't have been able to make plans at such a late stage,
esp vis-a-vis hotel bookings/travel arrangements. Am sure folks will have lost
money too. A heartfelt apology from the tour operators, instead of the bland words,
"apologies for any incovenience caused", wouldn't go amiss.

Anyhow, looking forward to a blissful night at Wembley Arena.
