For those Leonard Cohen fans who missed out last week getting tickets for the first 2 September dates have been given one last opportunity to snap up tickets to see the magnetic and inimitable Leonard Cohen at IMMA for this very special fully seated show in the unique in the stunning grounds of the Royal Hospital.
Such was demand for both Leonard Cohen dates on the 11th and 12th September which went on sale last Friday, that tickets for the first concert selling out in under 10 minutes and the second show selling out a few short hours later.
Musician, Poet, Novelist and arguably one of the greatest singer-songwriters of all time – Leonard Cohen 2008 concerts at Kilmainham have become the stuff of legend and proved to be moving, magical and unforgettable for both artist and audience alike. Fans who weren’t at the Kilmainham shows to this day still lament missing out. Never a performer to disappoint his audience, Leonard Cohen has now promised to add a third show to his sold out Irish dates.
Citing W.B Yeats, Irving Layton and Walt Whitman as literary influences Cohen first shot to the forefront of the music industry in the 60s and has remained a majorly inspirational talent and contributor to the industry since he first emerged. His lyrics of lust, love, religion, death and seclusion have enlightened fans and musicians worldwide. Boasting an estimated 1,330 covers of his original songs Leonard’s work has enamoured U2, REM, Nick Cave and the late Johnny Cash among others.
His albums Songs of Leonard Cohen (1967), I'm Your Man (1990) and Dear Heather (2004) are rightly considered classics along with the beautiful singles "Hallelujah" and "Suzanne". His literary genius and unique musical talent are as legendary as the man himself.
In his sixth decade of producing critically acclaimed music Leonard Cohen remains at the top of his game with the release of his twelfth studio album ‘Old Ideas’ this year. Worldwide praise has been mounting for this highly anticipated collection of new material with The Telegraph declaring it as a “work of genius.” This will be the first time that Irish fans will hear this new material performed live.

Ah that's good news for some...now that Mercury is in the process of going direct, the announcement of U.K. shows is surely that much closer.

John,
Are you implying that astrology depicts when countries offering Cohen concerts will be announced?

Vicomte - Not exactly, but when Mercury goes direct (after being apparently retrograde) then information which has been held back is often released. I'm still hoping that there might be at least one U.K. show after Dublin.

With, or without Mercury going direct or indirect, I think we both know that there is no way Cohen's management team will give London a swerve
