Poetry by the Forum members...

I am wondering, seeing as we have this section of the forum, why don't we have Music by the Forum members? Any chance Jarkko?
I have posted a link to my music before but didn't really get any feedback and would love to hear what fellow Len fans think of it. I'm not saying it's similar, though some of it does have a direct influence guitar-wise (to his early albums).

Quite (too?) many sections already, but we could
change the title of the "Poetry by the Forum members"
section to read "Poetry and music..."
if this idea has support.

Perhaps it will reach the same standards as the poetry.

Poetry and music are so closely linked in Leonard's music that it would be the natural answer.

I like reading the poetry and also have listened to music by others when posted. However I gave up on the poetry as the "critics" seem to have taken over the forum and the "debates" are tiring. I fear the same might happen with the music.
It would be nice if there were rules, you know, the kind our mother taught us - "if you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything".
I don't get the feeling folks are posting to win any contests, but more to share some inner thoughts and feelings. So I don't know why there are those that must bring the poetry rule book and start grading the efforts.
My guess is those that want any and all feedback will go to a more poetry centric site and take their chances.
My 2 cents worth anyway.

I agree with all you've said, Rick. With regard to adding the music aspect to the title of the Forum Member's Poetry section, I'm interested in the music of others. It would be listener-friendly to have them all in one location, so that when I finally get to sound, I'm not having to try to remember where 'that link' was posted.

As a followup, Steve I've visited your site often to listen again to your music. You play a vey nice, clean guitar (as a really bad guitarist I notice these things!). Plus I like the other instrument choices - the earthy acoustic stuff. Well done.

Perhaps it will reach the same standards as the poetry.
Is that possible?

Thanks, Rick, it's nice to get some feedback!
I notice this thread has been read over 110 times but only 5 poll votes?!

Whoops, I commented, but forgot to Vote. Just corrected that. I have to laugh at the 16% of No's ~ to which my response would be, "Don't click on the link

Only 5 votes indeed. Perhaps that tells us all we need to know!
Was the poem section considered a success or failure? I've read dozens and dozens of them, admittedly breezing through some but spending time with others. I never felt qualified to comment nor did I think a comment was needed. I liked many and was happy to read them and have returned to some for rereading.

Hi Rick ~
Though participation has subsided some of late, the Members section is actually
quite the success, with historically a
lot of participation [and aside from George's, in case a certain someone feels compelled to comment

]!
My position is, "What's in the addition of two words ~ "and Music" ~ to a section. It will cover that of those links that end up there [and I'm certain more will, with time] and they'll have their 'proper' place for doing so

.

Well I confess to having posted inappropriately before, so apologies! I've never posted under Poetry though, my lyrics just don't get there! Keep voting peeps! Or, alternatively, just add the words!

Hi Greenfeld ~
Well, it wouldn't have
been 'inappropriate', unless there
were an official, 'appropriate' section ~ which there's
not [yet

].

I guess so! Shouldn't say that, though, you'll get people posting their stuff everywhere
