Them's fightin' words.
Not only is it true...but it the first of three Volumes...with two more in the wings. Plus, Dylan is going to publish an Update to his Lyrics. All in October. This is plot to drown out Leonard's new album.
Too much Dylan...not enough Leonard.

No those we're just a Bob Dylan reference.
If anyone is a liar it's Dylan. The man likes to mess with people's heads just for fun. The Dylan groupies who buy into it and follow it are just plain sad. I am a Dylan fan but I will never buy this book. If I ever have the curiosity to read it I will just go to the library.
Also, you shouldn't be so upset about this. In my opinion there is no Bob Dylan vs Leonard Cohen rivalry. We should be thankful for them both (but more for Leonard).

3 Volumes. It took me 4 years to finish War and Peace.
I'm wondering how "truthful" this memoir is going to be. Especially since Dylan was known for telling out-right lies about his life in the "early days" of his career. I don't know that anybody can tell the real "truth" about themselves. There has to be a lot of self-editing going on. If Leonard were to write an autobiography I bet he would edit like mad.

Dylan said about the Chronicles "I'm gonna try to remember as much as I can and the rest I'll make up."

With all those years of smoking, that
could end up a fair share of it

Dylan also put out an appeal to people he worked with in the sixties for memories - which at least supported the old adage that if you can remember the sixites you weren't there! (I can't, but then I was only about 4).
I think there's plenty of room for both Bob and LC. I came to Cohen via Dylan so I'm glad he was (and still is) there.
