Didn’t come so soon
Delayed to July
And a failure to swoon
In the allotted month
On which poets rely


Tough time for poets
With a Government imposed syntax
Depletion not completion
A 30% cut
Sentences start
But


Tough time for poets
With a curse on swearing
And a wholesale ban on clichés
And the glass is not half empty
And the glass is not half full
And if compelled to talk
About the fucking glass at all
It’s smashed and cutting,
A shard for every bard,
Lose more than a metre of blood
The justified deaths of useless poets
They are the ones
Who don’t even know it

I'm glad that the poem which emerged was happy and in keeping with this Festive Season.

o all right then. imagine you are on your way to school and you stop at the beach to look at the waves rolling in. You feel hungry so you open your satchel and pull out your lunchbox. unfortunately you pull out your homework as well; an A4 piece of paper containing a composition you wrote last night that you had intended to deliver to your english teacher. the sheet of paper falls down onto the pebbles, and as you crouch down to pick it up you see a big wave coming towards it. what do you say?
