Thank God for that. There are way to many dodgy covers of Leonards songs already without the cast of Glee butchering them any further. I'm sick of hearing their renditions of wonderful songs. Radio stations seem incapable of playing originals any more!

Did he turn down a cameo or permission for them to sing a song? I think Glee is a pretty good show, but I can't imagine Leonard Cohen in it

From the "theme" mentioned, it would be permission for the use of his song.

Frankly, I am disappointed because my grandchildren love that show. And they tease me all the time that, "Bubbie is a Leonard Cohen groupie".

Unless I am missing something, LC cannot deny them permission for most of his catalogue because it got all sold off to Sony who I would guess now have last word in much the same way that the estate of Michael Jackson and Sony control the rights to covering Beatles songs.

I thought the same myself but whatever the situation over permission I'm just glad it isn't happening.

There is absolutely no chance this is true; for starts, I would have thought it wasn't up to L. And secondly, Daniel Johnston, who's mentioned along with Madonna, is a relatively obscure folk-singer who suffers from severe bi-polar. His songs are not known away from his hardcore fanbase. Just seems like a wind-up, tbh.

There seems to be some interest for a Leonard Cohen episode of GLEE.
