Webb Sisters play Toronto -- Who's up for it?

First off, I should mention that after many months of lurking in the shadows I have, finally, today taken the plunge into membership.

So... the purpose of this topic, in short, is to see how many of you would be willing to join me in my first official act as a LCF member, which will be attending the Webb Sisters performance next Wednesday (March 31st) in Toronto. Glancing through various threads, I see that there has been ample discussion re: the Webb Sisters upcoming gigs in NY and Ottawa, but not so much the Toronto appearance at Hugh's Room.

From what I can gather, the show starts at 8:30PM and tickets are available for $20 at the door or $18 in advance. For inquiring minds, most other info can be found at http://www.hughsroom.com.

Unfortunately, I've never been able to see Mr. Cohen himself perform, so this will be the closest I have thus far gotten to the Cohen and co. experience. Although that alone brings me satisfaction, I can't help but think the experience would be greatly enhanced if I didn't have to go it alone.

So... who's going? Thinking of going? Let's get it out in the open. If you aren't familiar with Hugh's Room, do not worry as you are not alone.

Please share any ideas on how to make this night as enjoyable as possible.

Good to be here,

HJH155

Hello, HJH155,

I just found your thread.

I am going to the Webb Sisters at Hugh's Room March 31st. I've go to Hugh's Room quite often. It's a lovely venue. Do you live in Toronto?

We can meet up at the venue, if you like.

Who else is going, I wonder?

Anne

By the way, Judy Collins is also playing at Hugh's Room, the following night...

The sublime Webb sisters are also playing Ottawa on April 1. Evelyn Stein has opened a thread for those of us who want to meet up beforehand.

Thanks very much for your reply. Glad to here a positive take on Hugh's Room--I'd never even heard of it before this week, to be honest.

I live in Mississauga, but I take the train down to Toronto quite frequently. Am I correct to presume you live in the city?

Also, I have heard about Judy Collins' upcoming appearance; however, if I'm not mistaken, tickets are quite a deal more expensive for her show as compared to the WS.

Anyway, thanks once again for your reply--I was beginning to get a little worried this thread was going to be left without a reply. I'd love to meet up with you. What time will you be arriving? As well, would you be willing, by any chance, to upload a picture of yourself so I know who to look for?

I'll be there with 3 or 4 others...but not for dinner. I don't even know what time it starts.

Judy Collins is also doing a reading/interview/signing at Indigo Yorkville. But it's at 7pm so may be tight to get to TWS show in time.

I'll likely be wearing a black vest with the Bob Dylan eye logo on it...glasses and short hair. Arrival time will depend on when the show starts, and if I can make the Judy Collins thing. I think I'll call Hugh.

Cheers,
Ken(adian)

Ken, any chance we'll see you in Ottawa for the April 1 show?

Hi, Ken,
The show starts at 8:30. I'll be there with some friends for dinner at 7. I'm sure the friendly staff at Hugh's Room will point out my table if you ask.

I'll keep an eye out for the Dylan vest.

A demain!
Anne

Anne, thanks for the beautiful photos, especially the last one!

Am looking forward to reading some reviews from forum members who were at the show.

You're welcome, Mary. The last one is my favourite, too.
