Zagreb Meetup, March 13-16, 2010

Quite many of us have irrevocable flights and hotels booked to Zagreb in March. Eija and I have never been to Zagreb, so we will come anyway. We have already discussed this with some others who also have tickets, and looks like at least Ken, Henning and Elke, Willy and Wijbe, Andrea and Marco, and Paola will be in Zagreb in mid-March. Maybe we can talk Tom into showing us the city, and then we will have a small-scale meetup, too! March 15 would be the logical date for a gathering at a nice restaurant. Anybody else coming???

This was the one show I didn't have a ticket for and I wish I did as I would have had travel arrangements in place and be able to meet up with you all in Zagreb. I'm sure you will all have a great "mini event" in mid March!

Great .. you will be welcome .. I also have friends coming who cannot change their tickets. But I looked at the rescheduled dates and unless I am mistaken Zagreb is not there .. I hope this is a mistake and that we will soon know the revised date!

The rescheduled dates below
will be amended shortly to reflect
all thirteen rescheduled dates:
Sept. 15 CAEN ZENITH
Sept. 17 GRENOBLE PALAIS DES SPORTS
Sept. 19 STRASBOURG ZENITH
Sept. 21 MARSEILLE LE DOME
Sept. 23 TOURS PARC DES EXPOSITIONS
Sept. 25 LILLE ZENITH GRAND PALAIS
Oct. 04 KATOWICE SPODEK
Oct. 07 MOSCOW KREMLIN PALACE
Oct. 13 BRATISLAVA SIBAMAC ARENA
Zagreb is the only one missing, and even that only amounts to 10 dates, so I guess there are going to be three more, unless there are others missed off that list that were on the original list too?

Sorry my dear friends - my shock was to big at the first moment (Zagreb is missing), and I forgot to say:
Jarkko, Eija & all of you dear friends - you are welcome in our Zagreb

Happy to see you
Also, I support physicians advices to Leonard. I'm sure he will return his great condition in short time.
I (we) need him

Lupapromotion announces new date in 3-4 days!
Now, March 13-16. We are keeping the original plan, which depens of the time of arrivals of all our guests. I recall that some were announced already for Friday, because we planned "weekend in Zagreb".
- city seeing (Saturday?, Sunday)
- Tower of Songs show (was supposed to be on Sunday; now we're of course looking for smaller venue as we're not expecting so many foreign fans and Leonard's band members...)
- lunch on Sunday... maybe in old town up hill
- Monday is now free (and museums closed), so maybe just city seeing and lunch, pub in the evening, OR short trip to i.e. Plitvice National Park?
- literary journal Quorum goes now with Leonard Cohen issue because it's fully ready for the printing (they will not postpone it for the Fall issue), so we will have it, maybe unofficial promotion (the original plan included the presentation of new Ira Nadel's edition, launching of Tim Footman's biography in Croatian, and the journal)
Henning, I talked with Dino today and you are invited to join with your guitar and treat us with some of your Cohen music!

Haha!
And being from Montreal - Leonard
does "know snow." I'm remembering the childhood story about him being put "out" in the morning in his snowsuit.
I don't think Leonard would like Philadelphia right now -
Yup - that's my car - and the snow is still falling.
And a "Founding Forefather" - knee deep - across the street -

And it is snowing in Zagreb as we speak ... It should be ok by mid-March but we wouldn't want any guests to slip and hurt their back.
I am already looking forward to the meet up and rehearsal for whenever the concert is rescheduled in September or October. Tom et al will do a brilliant job of showing this lovely city.
And Ken, just for you Luka has been practising too ... may be not quite for the Arena yet but still ...

From Robert Kory:
I understand that the fans in Croatia may wonder why all the other dates from the March tour have been rescheduled and Zagreb is not mentioned. Rest assured, we have not forgotten our wonderful fans in Croatia. We are working on finding a date and we ask only for modest patience. Sometimes, I think that fans do not appreciate the challenges of booking a tour. We have to take into account availability of venues in all the cities as well as travel times between cities, and then add to that, the preferences of local promoters as to which days are best in their communities. That said, we will reschedule the Zagreb date with ample time for the fans to make arrangements.
That means, after our meet-up in March, we will repeat it all sometimes in mid-October!
