Poem from the Hill

A girl I once met
she claimed she saw beauty
her dress was civilian
but she swore it was her

I said, now dear stranger
I'd like to believe you
but beauty's been hijacked
of that I am sure

She laughed and decided
I must be a madman
I said, now dear lover
you know that's not true

At first she seemed angry
but then she looked closer
And said, my dear lord
the beholder is you!

thank you lizzy. I wrote it a little while ago but when I saw the "poetry by members" forum I figured I'd post it as the style adnd vocabulary of the poem was very much inspired by LC. I appreciate the feedback :)
