Hotels in San Jose

So far it seems people are either staying at the Fairmont Hotel in San Jose or the Anza Hotel.
I wanted to start a thread to see if people have thought about this yet and where the majority are staying...the pros and cons, etc.
I notice with Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas that prices have gone up this week...so I am wanting to book in San Jose, knowing that
there are good cancellation policies and prices may go down..but then again may go up.
I am undecided but am leaning towards the Fairmont. :D
Look forward to hearing what others are doing.

Hi Leslie,

Right now I have a reservation at the Hotel de Anza but keeping my options open. I liked it because of the art deco theme and the fact that it's within walking distance both of the HP Pavilion and the restaurant/bar/bistro area in the other direction. The Fairmont looks okay too except that it's a little further away, but not that bad a walk. I'll probably stay with the de Anza but have no problem zipping over to the Fairmont to visit everyone else!

At this point, I need a hotel with a smoking room. I am looking at the Arena Hotel, right next door to the venue, reasonable rate, plus free hot breakfast. Also considering the Crowne Plaza, reasonable rate with an in-hotel bar. Other option is the Ramada, about a mile away, reasonable rate and has an in-house bar they bill as a 'hotspot' (I like that :D ).

My choices and length of stay (overnight only right now) will depend on a number of factors, including meet-ups planned.

Mary...fortunately the hotels you mentioned probably do not list a toilet as an amenity :D ;-) 8)

I'm staying in the Arena hotel with my husband and my teens. We like the idea of being able to just stumble back to the hotel afterwards.

I am still booked at De Anza (not the Fairmont) but may change it closer to the date..will check out the Arena..
I think a nice walk after the concert 3 blocks sounds nice...though I see the benefit of being even closer..
Will be fun to have a meet up if there is time..

I am staying at the Arena. (for the same reason someone mentioned 'being able to stumble back').

And regarding someone's posts about 'toilets' not being mentioned as amenities... there's always the sink :p J/k.

Is there any talk of a meet up yet?

POZEST,

The toilet listed as an amenity was because the motel we booked in Phoenix listed a toilet as an amenity and I was sure glad we had one  ! I also booked the Arena. Since it doesn't show a toilet in its amenities list, I just don't know what we're going to do. Guess we'll have to use the toilet next door in the liquor store    .

Best regards,
Mary

Guess the mosaic is on all our minds as a priority - next the meetups!

Right now I'm strongly considering the De Anza; seems to offer more amenities than the fairmont and they have nifty specials as well.

Booked at de Anza. Should be a great getaway made even better by an evening with Leonard & co.

Indeed. Looking forward to it despite 0400 wake up for flight to San Jose on Friday morning. For me it is no big deal. My wife however does not do mornings... A promise of an evening with Leonard should serve to motivate my beloved though.

Will you be in Las Vegas too? There are quite a few people doing both concerts and arriving in San Jose around 1:40pm.
I imagine there will be meet ups planned closer to the date..
Enjoy the early morning flight!

Hi Jon
There are quite a few people arriving on a Southwest flight from Las Vegas at 1:40...this just happened on its own that we got on the same flight as it was the best time from Las Vegas..not too early not too late...
Closer to the date someone will come up with a meet up plan...
Its 2 months away and can hardly wait..
Take care
