LAS VEGAS SHOW - DRESS CODE??

We haven't been to LV since the early 80s and in those dim and distant days they would not allow you entry to a show in Vegas if you were wearing jeans. In addition, men were required to wear a tie. I remember we got tickets to a Diana Ross show and rushed off late night shopping when we found out about the dress restrictions. Smart trousers were no problem but we couldn't get a tie for Tony anywhere so we ended up missing the show.

I am assuming that things have changed somewhat in the last 25 or so years but as I only reluctantly do "smart" for work and my concert "uniform" these days is almost exclusively based around jeans and T shirts/ tops whilst Tony only dresses up for weddings, funerals and meetings with the bank manager, I thought it would be a good idea to double check in advance.

I'm showing my age here I know but hey ho ...

Hi Wendy,

To tell you the truth, I have no idea. I lived in Vegas for 8 years but never went to a major Strip type show. Hopefully some Forum member who is more current with the dress code will know. Mutti...where are you? I think she's been to several in the past few years. Although I could live in jeans permanently, I was thinking of something slinky for LV...although need to do a little work on the bod for slinky ;-) More casual for San Jose. Will be interesting to hear other opinions.

"meetings with the bank manager"

I was in LV 4 months ago. Went to see Beatles Love Show and there was absolutely NO dress code.
Thar applies to all shows. Not to worry.
Go as you are and enjoy.

I have not been to any shows in Las Vegas...we did go last xmas for 2 nights as we were doing a road trip to Death Valley and Lone Pine for photography purposes.. We stayed at THe Mandalay which I loved as Las Vegas is so not my scene...but this hotel was beautiful and at least the lobby didn't have a casino in it...it felt like being in the tropics..away from the main part of the strip..so sorry I can't help but my feeling is there is no dress code or we would know...I am sure everything is fine...except for a Borat style bathing suit..just joking..

Definitely not a dress code.

Some will be dressed to the 9s...most will be wearing shorts, Tshirts etc.

Shorts? Although Vegas is casual now, I really wouldn't want to see people going to an LC concert in shorts unless it was outdoors and a festival atmosphere! Also, November weather is wonderful in LV but not always for shorts, especially in the evening. T-shirts, not a problem....especially if they are Leonard t-shirts! :D

My experience, anything goes in Vegas and thats what I just love about it - I was at the Coleseum earlier this year to see bette Midler and I wore smart white jeans and a long t.shirt (to hide the bum!)
In my opinion, just wear whatever you are comfortable in and dont worry about any dress code because there aint one!
Roll on 12th November!!

I just heard the dress code is for women "something tight, with polka dots and blue raincoats" for the women
and the men "suits with a fedora on their head". Otherwise no admission...
can you imagine how cool that would be!

I believe that it is also mandatory for everyone to have a rose in their teeth. :D

There is no dress code on any "arena" style shows. I go to Vegas WAY MORE then anyone should. This show is going to be great. Ceasers palace is one of my favorite places.

Anything goes for shows in Vegas but many restaurants and clubs do have strict dress codes. If you're planning dinner reservations before the show and/or a club afterward you should check dress codes there.

I'm going to wear my 2009 LC tour jacket (fleecy) that I bought at the Vancouver show, that will keep the night chill off! Thanks for pointing that out tho, nudity (maybe underneath) should be de rigeur at LC shows!

Any of you Vegas vets care to comment on the sound quality of Caesar's? I have heard it is excellent. Of course the current system and engineers touring with LC are PHENOMENAL, at least based on all the Canadian shows, I went to Vancouver and several colleagues reported in from other Canadian shows (I work in the music industry) ... mind you, I chalk a lot of the credit up to the fans. Our demographic, old and young, shuts UP for this show, making it possible for the sound level overall, even in a big hockey rink, to be so reasonable that it sounds big and lush without being overkill. Great credit goes to to the production crew!
