April Showers Bring Me Flowers (work in progress)

Since music is really my thing, I decided to post the lyrics to a new song I'm working on. I'd appreciate your thoughts. To give you an idea of the vibe of the tune, it's got a Hank Williams kind of thing going on. Though I consider Cohen to be a major influence (as every singer-songwriter should), my style has always been more of a nod to rootsy, americana type stuff. If you'd care to put me in your ears...that'd be peaches: http://www.myspace.com/mitchhemann
Anyway, back to the tune. I'm just putting it together now, but I thought the subject matter was appropriate for the season. Let me know what you think.
April Showers Bring Me Flowers
How many angels can you fit
on the corner of 33rd and Broadway?
Only one, and if it all goes right,
I’ll be kissing her tonight.
What were you like when you were young?
What made you laugh and what made you cry?
Oh I swear I heard every word,
just distracted by the magic in your eyes.
And we’re all out of wine,
so I’m drinking you in.
Kisses on your neck,
where the flesh is paper thin.
Just lay me down and hold me tight.
Don’t make me go home tonight.
Just stay with me ‘til morning light.
Don’t make me go home tonight.
Well it’s coming down in buckets,
but I don’t mind the rain these days.
‘Cause these April showers bring me flowers
and you’re just eleven blocks away.
And I’ll be throwing rocks at your window
I’ll be throwing rocks into your world.
Singin’ “Come on down and let me in,
I wanna get my arms around you girl”.
Is that rain in the air?
Or am I breathing you in?
My fingers in your hair
for days on end.
Just lay me down and hold me tight.
Don’t make me go home tonight.
Just keep me here ‘til morning light.
Don’t make me go home tonight.
