I'll be there! I grew up next door in Southington, live now in Massachusetts, can hardly believe Leonard will be visiting my old haunts. Haven't been in the theater for years, but it's a nice setup for this sort of event, not too large and all good views, spruced up recently if I'm not mistaken. Some good restaurants too in Waterbury, both fancy Italian and neighborhood Hispanic. I drove to Montreal for LC last summer, and it was terrific--this is a magnificent bonus.

Sweet! I'm actually from Tennessee but have lived in this state for close to a decade. The station where I work does a lot of promos for stuff at the Palace (usually god-awful hokey Broadway stuff I hate because of the GM and his acting bug, but this time they nailed it.) There's a new Puerto Rican restaurant on Baldwin St. called Mr. Mofongo that I loooooove--and it's close to the studios.
They recently redid everything at the Palace, it's very nice now.

Funny, I'm originally from CT, but am flying up from Tennessee for this show.

I'll be there as well. Looking forward to the show as it will be my first Leonard Cohen concert experience!
Coming down from MA also...

I'll be there as well. Was fortunate to be at the Beacon show, and am thrilled to have the opportunity to see it again. It appears that very good single seat tickets are still available for this show. Only two night ago, I snagged an excellent fifth row center orchestra seat for $152, though I already had a so-so ticket purchased during the fan presale. I couldn't resist the "upgrade." Cheers.

Hi All,
First post! My husband and I will be Amtraking up from Philly. Probably to New Haven then rent a car. Any recommendations for restaurants/things to do in Waterbury? Surprising dearth of information available. Cheers.

You can get a train from Bridgeport to Waterbury on Metro North--walk from the train station to downtown, including the theater. No train back after the concert, unfortunately, but you might want to stay over anyway. Mattatuck Museum downtown is nice for a little place; if you like art, a really good American art museum in nearby New Britain, the Atheneum in Hartford a major museum, the Hill-Crest house nearby in lovely Farmington a fine house with some art, plus the New Haven museums associated with Yale.
Classy dining in Waterbury includes Diorio's Restaurant for serious dining, and lots of ethnic places.

Thanks for that info, jmarkley! We are planning on staying over.
Anyone up for a meetup after the show? Any suggested spots close by?
