Some musings

One day I'll love to know you
So far from the war
But tomorrow never reaches
The steps of my front door

The body laced with metal
The mind wired, too
But the spirit's always willing
To come hobbling back to you

The horizon stretches on
For a purpose I can't defy
But the bleeding, beating heart
Is still blanketed by the sky

But the spirit's always willing
To come hobbling back to you
These are very moving lines, Valhoun, especially when preceded by the truth in these:
The body laced with metal
The mind wired, too
One day I'll love to know you
So far from the war
But tomorrow never reaches
The steps of my front door
The hope and faith in the first two lines suddenly become very haunting with the last two.

I hope you'll keep writing and sharing here, Valhoun.

Thank you for your kind words. I have very little free time but I will make an effort to stick around for awhile, ya know?
