The Wanderer

Here's another poem that I've called "The Wanderer". It's not about an actual journey, but more of spiritual one "driven with passion and with pain".
I see a man sitting outside. It is still dark, though not real dark anymore, it is just before dawn. And I see a woman, a mother of many children, standing out in the fields calling for him. I haven't seen her before, but I can see the sun rising behind her back... and she is beautiful.
This poem is for her.
The Wanderer
We rose with the dawn
that old sun and I
now the sun is long gone
and I'm alone in the night
We rose with the dusk
that old moon and I
now the moon is long lost
and I'm alone inside
How many years I've walked
how many times I've tried
and still I could not get across
to the other side
And I am lost
like a fatherless child
my soul untouched
my heart so wild
I know that I'm not stronger
I know it's just a lie
but let me stay a little longer
let me say goodbye
I am the wanderer
I've walked through the nights
but just a little over yonder
I can see the morning lights
My kind daughters
come by my side
and we'll ride the dark waters
one last time
One last time
and I know it is true
put your hand in mine
and you'll know it too
The tears I've cried
I'll dry them all for you
and when the sun rise
It'll shine on something new
I am the wanderer
I've walked through the night
and just a little over yonder
I can see the morning light
