Thank you ladydi, I will save that prayer for me card next year .
You just might find yourself among your Irish friends again :!:
Recently I was at a meeting of promoters penning dates for concerts, festivals etc. for 2011/12.
Speculation regarding September 2011 but April 2012 is on the table (charted but unconfirmed as yet :!: ).
Not quite Bird-On-The-Wire reliability.......
but still a nod is as good as a wink to a blinkered galloping horse in mid stream ;-)

Ah, Mick....you do know how to get ones mind reeling! While this may not come from your "bird", your information is generally pretty accurate, so I will continue to have a smile on my face. Either date sounds good, but I have a feeling the April 2012 might be more firm ;-) . I'm sure Ireland is even greener than ever in the spring....albeit probably a little wetter also!

I hope it will be April 2012. I will be retired by then and need not worry about dates. Hope to see you all again somewhere in Ireland, maybe even in Limerick (Thomond Park - hint, hint!)

Well you never know Diana, it may be greener but we sometimes get reasonably good weather around that time. :)
Just to start the speculation (that's the wicked side of me!) I wonder if would be an outdoor venue so early in the year?
Kilmainham? Powerscourt? Aw shucks, anywhere!

I was in Powerscourt last weekend. Tis a lovely location. However ANYWHERE in Ireland is fine :D And yes Diana Ireland in April is beautiful. Depending on when spring starts there could be lots and lots of daffodils around!

Not a tease Anne :) ,
but please bear in mind that this type of early chart calendaring is to try avoid clash of concerts for same night / week in same area / city by venue / concert promoters for major artists e.g. Neil Young / Bob Dylan / Bruce Springsteen / Simon and Garfunkel etc. etc. etc..
What I have seen is concert "penciled" in for yer Man :!: ,
seen by others as well but they are not on this Forum.
Best say nothing :?: till we hear more.................... ;-)

Anne,
I am not privy to scheduling outside of Ireland but
you can be sure that dates are "pencilled in" for somewhere in the UK,
I do know we have "our Neil" and also Paolo Nutini coming to Dublin later this year ;-)

Mike.... wasnt getting at you....we like coming to Ireland but not the only great venue around!!!!

Oh maybe we will have Neil over here as well, would love him to tour with Buffalo Springfield again---will have to keep ear to the ground. Saw Paolo Nutini a few years ago with The Stones--he was good. If The Boss was touring also that would make it a great year.

Keep well

That is sad news about Lissadell Mick. I don't like the sound of the fortress around the house :(

Irish Independent
I wasn't at the Sligo concerts and have never visited Lissadell House so maybe that's why I don't understand why the existence of a public right of way at Lissadell is such a big deal to the current owners. Public rights of way exist all over the place and many, many people own land and property which is subject to such rights. Most do not make the sort of fuss and enter into expensive legal wranglings the way the current owners of Lissadell have done. Such rights of way are rarely disruptive in practice. I'm sure there are many other people on here who like to go for nice long walks and make use of public rights of way from time to time so why are they considered so unacceptable at Lissadell? Why is the vision over? Public access to land does NOT mean that the land or property is under any sort of threat. (Are they trying to "protect" their property I wonder or are they trying to block the right of way?)

I also find it inconceivable that the present owners, barristers no less, would have paid €4m for a property without first checking whether there were any public rights of way over the property if it is such a problem for them. Such things show up on a simple legal search as we know from personal experience when a search showed up a right of way over the front garden to the house we were about to buy. Admittedly the property in question was somewhat less grand that Lissadell House but the principle is the same .... There may have been some dispute about the existence of the rights of way at Lissadell - as the recent court case demonstrated - but the owners should surely have been on notice of the risk when they bought the place.
