Lately I've had the following lines still going thru my head:
You who build these altars now
to sacrifice these children,
you must not do it anymore.
A scheme is not a vision
and you never have been tempted
by a demon or a god.

Maybe there's a God above
But all I've ever learned from love
Was how to shoot somebody who outdrew ya

Thanks to DrHGuy for introducing me to this song and one of my favorite Cohen lines ever:
Do I Have To Dance All Night:
1976 vinyl version
I'm Forty-One, the moon is full,
you make love very well.
You touch me like I touch myself,
I like you Mademoiselle.
I quoted this one in my Leonard Cohen presentation that I had to give to one my University level Creative Writing English courses last week. My professor instructed each of us to select a writer that has influenced you throughout my life, who else would I choose but Leonard Cohen!I believe it went well. After I finished, a bunch of my classmates, said "I Love Leonard Cohen too."

I'm listening to him now, Halleluia is on.
He is so so beautiful.
Does everyone (the girls at least) become so besotted at first.
It reminds me of when I was young and had that 'in love' feeling.
There is absolutely nobody else like him is there?
Mr. Cohen, if you read this, your followers are growing daily and we love you!

You are definitely not alone in these feelings! I think Leonard has that effect on many of us!

What a fascinating topic,Ive just been reading through the posts and all of them stand out.
Two Id like to add.
Ah they'll never, they'll never, ever reach the moon,
at least not the one that we're after,
it's floating broken on the open sea, look out there my friends,
and it carries no survivors.
Well you tell me that your lover has a broken limb,
you say you're kind of restlesss now and it's on account of him.
Well I saw the man in question, it was just the other night
He was eating up a lady where the lions and Christians fight
The man is quite simply a genius with words, and as for depressing, never found him that.Sad sometimes but mostly
uplifing.I can lift my mood instantly by putting on the Future loud, very loud, amazing song.
