Folks,
ignore Ken's umbrellas.
I'll be selling my (redundant) stock of Joe Dolan umbrellas at half-price.
They come in all colours and have the very fetching motto - "There's no show like a Joe show" which I've altered to "There's no Joe show." Sad but true.
damellon will also, I understand, be selling plastic bin liners from her chip-van, for those wishing to stay in the long black veil/ Leonard as introverted poet/ cheap-skate genre.
But my umbrellas are the very it!!!!

Actually, Red Poppy (or 'Pops' as I've seen you referred to affectionately, somewhere in this or an allied thread) damellon is not selling the bin liners. They come FREE with orders over 50euro, but not in combination with any other special offer such as the complimentary commemorative napkin (surely to feature shortly on the Collectors' thread). Think that gives me the edge over your recycled offering :D. It will be apparent to everyone now, that since you have set yourself up in opposition to the Tartan trailer, our commercial union is over. Apprentice or not, 'You're sacked/fired'! :D

Can't you come, even at this late stage, Paula?
Diane's only a skinnymalink. I'm sure she'd make room for you in the bed. :D

Yes, Paula, you are one of the people I was hoping to meet!!!

What is the obstacle? Maybe we can surmount it! Loads of good tickets still available, just helped a friend get two great seats this am.

Paula
think it through where would you rather be...
standing ( because believe me as soon as Leonard steps onto the stage everybody in the audience will stand and remain standing throughout) in a rain soaked field in Dublin with the wind and rain drowning out the sound from the borrowed sound system...
or would you rather be sitting at home all nice and dry with a nice glass of wine in your hand looking forward to the undercover Manchester and London gigs.

We won't mind a bit of rain Ken.

Paula, do a check for a cheap flight to Dublin, you know you'd love to be with us ;-)

I will see if I can cobble anything together at the weekend. It is the land of my favourite food.

 You lot are killing me. I'm not sure we should go ahead with this event. Red Poppy is still waiting for his case to come up from last time.

Ken, a regret is starting to grow in your mind I can tell. You still have time. We'll do a whip round, buy you a big black brolly.

Oh thanks for posting the movie MFL :D . Sean will you pick Paula up in your arms and carry her outside. Before she has the chance to nick someone else's glass?

Not in the least. I'm well sorted for that weekend. On Sunday I'm doing a charity walk under the River Mersey via the road tunnel ( despite the rumours I cannot walk on water) and I'm going to see Steve Earle at the Liverpool Phiharmonic Hall in the evening. Both activities are I assure you will not entail me getting soaked to the skin.

I'm really surprised at you and Margaret. I thought you both had learnt your lesson about the Irish summer weather when you were standing around in that rain soaked field in Mullingar a couple of years ago.

It looks like Tom Waits fans have more commonsense than yer average Leonard Cohen fan. I was lucky to get myself a ticket for one of Tom's Edinburgh Playhouse shows before they all went in the first half hour. All of Tom's shows have sold out except for the three nights in Dublin in a manky old tent in the middle of an expected rain soaked Phoenix Park.

Now, you ladies are putting the fear of Buddha into me with that bloody picture above!

I remember quite fancying Ms. Winger in that role (that movie was playing somewhere in the early part of the last quarter of the last century if I am not mistaken), and thinking that she could have done much better than Mr. Gere (Mr. Séan for example).

I am so glad all that is behind me now!
