Hartmut wrote:"It depends on the album's sales" ... That means he has to go on tour if the sales are bad? Or he has to go on tour if the sales are good?

He has to go on tour anyhow!

I know you have to charge me, but could you charge me less [for the tickets]?

Iceland
The song Darkness is no. 14 on the Icelandic chart list, Feb 11.
Went directly to no. 14 in the first week on the list.
I think this is the first time ever that Leonard Cohen has a song on the list.

That's great that it's charting so well in week 2. I fully expected a dramatic drop.

Well, the hype of first week's sales will now generate the further sale. I also expected just symbolic charting in first week, but after this smash success we can expect it run for weeks. E.g. Live in London is still on Top 50 in some European countries. (While Songs from the Road never did it.)
The tour interest is generated by the album's hype and media presence - so if this album disappeared from public consciousness as the last one (Dear Heather), it would be much harder to announce and sell the tour. On the wing of this sales, the tickets can go hot in pre-sales. Because *everybody* are talking about Leonard Cohen now and Old Ideas is probably going to be THE album which even non-Cohen fan will have in his/her collection, beside Greatest Hits from 1975.

No new albums this week on a scale Slo Top 30, because of the thirty best-selling albomov faced ten returnees. Adele is still at the top, second and third place in session news last week - Lana Del Rey, Born To Die (from 25th to 2nd) and
Leonard Cohen, Old Ideas (jump from 24th to 3rd place).
From another thread.
