Definitely a good idea! Have you looked at the group on Facebook for LC people? I'm in it and it means we can actually see what fellow Cohenites look like! Did you go to Weybridge in July?

Hey Sally
Glad you like the idea!
I have to admit to having a new disease called FBP (Facebook Phobia)... Are there therapists for that kind of thing?
No, I've never been to a Leonard Cohen concert despite being a lover of his music for a long long time.

You MUST go if (when) he comes to the UK again - next best thing is the Live DVD of the London Show in 2008! Know what you mean about FB - I am a reluctant user! It does have its uses though.

Hi All,
Did anybody notice the line-up for the Isle of Wight Festival in June? On Sunday 13th Suzanne Vega is on just before the headline act, which hasn't been announced yet - DARE WE HOPE...?
Also Melanie is appearing on Saturday night, who was at the festival all those 40 years ago!!
Just a thought!
Love, Eve x

That's ok. You didn't!!

I just can't stand the suspense - actually I couldn't go to the Isle of Wight anyway, but am hoping for somewhere more accessible. Went to Weybridge last year and it was fabulous, but somewhere dry would be even better ...

I'm so chuckling at these posts - the enthusiasm makes me feel alive. I'll travel to all of these places with enough notice.

Thank you for bouncing this thread back to the top!!! It must be our turn again soon. How about a "consolation prize" for the many Brits lwho lost out in the postponement of the French dates? I see Robert Kory has referred to more shows in Europe this summer. Dare we hope?

On a geographical hop across the pond, Leonard (I just know you are going to be browsing through the forum whilst you are recouperating from your treatments), the first place you come to is Ireland (very good place to do a show of course) and then England. Woopie. Don't let anyone tell you that there is any way of avoiding England in getting to Europe, and we know you are going there. You will need some petrol in your plane anyway, so just tell them to park at Heathrow for a couple of days while you take care of business. In fact, darn it, we are Europe as well of course, even though our trading is still in groats (or something) and not Hugos. Anyway, us poor little islanders have little cheer us, and you need little reminding how shi**y our weather can be, remember Wetbridge!
Also, once upon a time you found the best way of dealing with the weather here was to get the next plane out and that was how you found Hydra, so you have England to thank in a round-about way for finding your way there. You might never have met Marianne or written any of the wonderful stuff you did without visiting England first, no Bird On A Wire, no So Long Marianne, think about it. My plan is that you find a really nice place with a roof and do a concert, don't be pursuaded by ANYBODY to arrange another outdoor concert here. Robert seems a nice sort of a boy, I bet he can find a good place. Please let me pursuade you to take pity on us little wet creatures and cheer us up, we will be ecstatic if you come. Our lives will be full of sunshine and warmth the minute we see a UK show on the schedule
Yours pitifully
Evie B
