Thanks for your welcome Diane - much appreciated!
And how in the WORLD do you get to 2000+ posts, do you LIVE on here!!!
Didn't know there was a meet-up planned, but there are so many threads and posts here I'd have to give up the day job to read 'em all.
As it is Ive become a bit obsessed with checking in here to see what's going on!
Jarkko just posted that he still has hopes of getting special tickets for Dublin as and when.
So we can continue to be optimistic...

Eileen, I joined a long time ago when I was young and foolish, and got addicted. Anyhow I have met some of the best people I have ever known since being here.
There is no meet-up planned for this non-happening concert, far as I know, but I imagine someone will suggest a venue at some stage, and all you have to do is be there, if you so wish.
Jarkko is getting special tickets? I hope he hasn't had a personality transplant and is now on the wind-up in the manner of Red Poppy.

By the way, Sharon Robinson's site says she's playing The Point on Dec 1st as part of the Leonard Cohen world tour.
I think it's down to Paddy the Plasterer - if he can get the walls finished in time!
And the tickets will probably be on sale in Moore St.
Rumour has it that Marianne will join him on stage for "So Long Marianne" and "Bird on the wire."

Red Poppy,
Just in case The Point/O2 Dublin is not ready for 1st December 2008, I have set the following contingency plan in motion.
I have provisionally hired The Ratcellar marquee which was erected in Phoenix Park for the recent trio of Tom Waits gigs in Dublin for potential relocation to your back garden on the aforementioned date.
Will you and your good lady be able to maintain a steady supply of vol-au-vents, colcannon and Babycham throughout the evening?
P.S. Gerry Adams says can he sleep on your settee?

A site called worldticketshop.com have tickets for 1st Dec in Dublin for sale at €229 and €279!
http://www.worldticketshop.com/concerts ... hen_dublin
The newly renovated Point Depot is supposed to have a 14,000 seater arena, and a 2,000 seater theatre. At those prices, would you expect the gig to be in the theatre?
****Worldticketshop is a scalper website that sells tickets that they do not (yet) have at prices 2 or 3 x the face value. They sell also concerts that never will happen! Do NOT use their services / Jarkko ****

At those prices I'd be expecting to be singing backing vocals!
Vol au vents are off this year.
BWTGOAG - Will ask damellon about borrowing the chip van!

Looks like then information is conflicting. The list I received from AEG Live (with a note that these are the confirmed concerts) indeed shows Dublin on December 1, and another contact at AEG said they will check whether a special quota for us can be sorted out. I have now sent emails to both AEG and Leonard's tour management to solve this mystery!

Thank you Jarkko we would all be grateful if we could know for sure about 02 Dublin for December.
Some media announcements here say that Coldplay will be the first to play on 21st December, so it
would be great if AEG would confirm.
If it happens it will make my Christmas!!!

No no no - that was another Jewish gentleman who made your Christmas!
By the way tickets are (supposedly) on sale from a ticket-flogger on the net for 270 euro plus delivery.
I've heard of maternity hospital deliveries that were cheaper.
Come on, then, rip us off, we loves it, you bollockses!
