YaY! Finally, I will go to Ireland!
I've had green, deeply hilly dreams with paths and lakes below dreams of Ireland... and have always imagined the song "The Happy Wanderer" as being sung in Ireland.
This is wonderful news!!!
Congratulations, Afric! And to all of your willing helpers and supporters, the same...

Congratulations Afric and thank you for all your efforts! Count me in!
The first time I went to Ireland in 1973 was to Cork and I have wonderful memories of it. I have been 2 other times
but never made it back to Cork. I can hardly wait. I saw Christy Moore when he was with Planxty and remember walking through
the city after the concert in my new forest green platform boots wandering singing. I so look forward to it.

Well done to the Irish welcoming committee. For those like me who live on the mainland and don't like flying it is doable overland so I am happy.

Thank you Afric and the brand new Irish organising team! Cork sounds perfect to me, never been to Ireland before, now it looks like twice in less than a year
Thank you for those thinking in Barcelona for an event. I don't think we are in a position to organise a big event. A pre concert meet up or even a walking weekend is OK, an event is far from our possibilities.
I still think Granada would be a perfect place for a future Cohen event, but again an organising team would be needed....

Maybe this will be the place I finally get to. Would certainly love to visit Ireland--has long been on my list of places to go. Hubby has a long time friend
in Galway--which is not too far away--and might be able to plan some work to help accommodate our trip there. I picked up the perfect raincoat
for a trip to Poland last summer. My hair goes curly in the rain--sounds perfect. When I visited England many years ago--the locals all thought I was Irish. Well I said --my mother did come from Killarney--Manitoba--does that count?

Any chance that Cyprus may be considered.
There is a huge fan base and one or two days of concerts can be financed by various cultural institutions.
I can (and would like to) help in such a case...

Harry, thanks for your suggestion. However, the 2014 Event has already been nailed to Ireland.
The huge fan base in Cyprus is something that I had never heard before!

You blew it! It should have been Berlin to commemorate the 50th anniversary of "Flowers For Hitler".
