My friends went to Lille as they had already booked the time off work. They were very impressed with the city - "not industrial at all" they said, lots of nice buildings, very friendly locals and good beer (which is unusual in France, but being Flemish, Lille must get a bit of the Belgian beer influence!). It also wasn't as hard to find vegetarian food as it is in other French cities. They took a day trip to Bruges too, and thoroughly recommend that...

I am going to Lille alone for Leonard Cohen's great concert. Like many members, I have never been in Lille before. So, I will have to find a three-star hotel for two nights which is close to the concert place. Last August, we were fascinated from his concert in Istanbul. I would lke to know whether or not LC would come to Istanbul / Turkey in 2010.
Best regards

I had almost forgotten I have a ticket for the Lille concert in September...
For those members travelling from UK who had refunds/vouchers from Eurostar from the postponed March concert, tickets are now available for 25th September weekend at £65 return.

Hoping someone can advise me. I bought ticket for the cancelled show - ticket never came, and never had any email or refund from the venue or the promoter. Will my ticket for the September show just come automatically or is there something I need to have done?

I would ring the venue/promoters if I were to check that the booking was made for the cancelled concert. Their phone number is 00 331 44 94 91 50. Good luck. Also have you checked you bank/credit card payment to see if they took payment for the ticket, if so you should let them know when that was done.
Hope this is of some help to you

I booked TGV yesterday from Paris to Lille on the Friday and back on the Sunday, costs €52. I'd book it sooner than later.

I'm Ukrainian by birth - maybe they were meant for me

Seriously, Midnight Choir, I hope you get this ticket mess sorted out and are able to attend the concert.

TGV goes from Terminal 2 in Charles de Gaulle. No need to go into Paris and out again.
Try

I will be in Lille with my husband; is there anyone familiar with the area, who would like to book a place for a meetup, before or after the concert? Would be so nice to meet some forum friends. . .
