Just returned from London yesterday night and today I find this thread

!
I'm over the moon to hear that Leonard will return to Europe next year.
There are quite a few nice cities in Germany where Leonard hasn't played yet

, but I'd also love to visit Lisbon, Stockholm, Vienna, Prague, ... and I look forward to meeting some of you lovely Forum members again!
Thanks Jarkko for making my day!

I knew in my bones that our lovely man would go on touring..and on..and on..A Leonard never ending tour jus' like that other Jewish singer..
I have recently got in touch with an old friend I used to know years ago when I was on Hydra, who lives in Basel and would give anything to see him - she hasn't seen him since 1983. So I'm hanging out for Switzerland. Any chance for gigs in Switzerland, Jarkko??

You can probably walk from the Swiss border to Strasbourg.

It's strange, but this is the first time, I have not panicked when I heard that Leonard would be crossing the Pond again.
For the past 2 years , I was up at the appointed time making sure that I got great seats or presale. Have I lost interest?.................... Never.
It is just this time around, I am going to go with the flow.
I had no intention of going to Barcelona, and then I see that Jarkko had some spare tickets. I buy one. When I got there, I lost my ticket, but someone found it. Anyways, to cut a long story short. I ended up for the second half of the concert in the front row and for the encores, at the centre in front of the stage and in front of Leonard. So this time, I am taking it easy, I know I will see him again, somewhere , someday.

Nice post, Tinderella... I think it has been the same for many of us around the world.
Well, it is so nice to be back here - to think of all the evenings when I was so tired I could barely speak... but I received all news from everyone so eagerly!
Thank you Jarkko for such wonderful news - I haven't felt so great

for some time!
Leonard back to Europe... what a miracle!
I'll be watching out for the complete list and weigh my best choices. Someone said Athens - that would be lovely (on the Acropolis, maybe?). Strasbourg sounds great too, but it is so early in the year

... And Croatia - why didn't anyone think of Dubrovnik, the Croatian mediaeval jewel?
Now I'm getting ready for a good night sleep... smiling again with the sound of Leonard's music...
Lots of love to you all,
Carmen

Dubrovnik would be amazing...but I think the only theater in the old city (and it would be absurd to have a concert in the new part) seats only about 300...tho I suppose a Venice type San Marco equivalent could be performed outside on the main drag with room for perhaps a couple of thousand standing.

A copy of my PM to a forum member, after "disarranging" (to quote the Rolling Stones from "19th Nervous Breakdown" my entire life to go see LC three times in France (from the US) this morning:
Well, I got up at 4 a.m. in the morning, when they went on sale, and just kept at it; Strasbourg and Caen started working about 4:15 a.m.; went back to bed due to Lille continued problems and got that ticket when I re-awoke about 8 a.m. or something like that (then had a dentist appointment at 10 a.m.!) I did get all three, tho in the cheapest (but still absurdly expensive, MUCH more than I paid in the U.S.) price range. I also had to rejigger my flight, scheduled to LEAVE Paris on March 1, which cost $320 in penalties/changes. Did you see the posting by the woman who said she planned to walk the streets with a sign of homelessness reading, "Too many Leonard Cohen concerts."
Tomorrow, I have appointments with:
1) my psychiatrist
2) my bankruptcy lawyer
3) my realtor (to sell my house)
4) my veterinarian (to sell my cats)
5) my designer (to sell all of my clothes and furniture)
6) my car dealer (to sell my car)
It will be a busy day!

The other concerts in Europe are to be announced soon, and will be Bratislava (March 13, Sibamac Arena), Ljubljana (March 17, Tivoli Hall), and Moscow (March 19, Kremlin Palace).

Dubrovnik doesn't have the hall, nowhere. The biggest square is that in front of the theatre, so no place for more than 200 people. That's nothing to be surprised at, because even bigger city in Europe - like Krakow! - doesn't have the appropriate concert hall. In January 2009 there was volleyball EU championship in Croatia - so biggest cities got their Arenas. So after years of not having big concerts in Croatia, we are overloaded since this year:)
The transport to Dubrovnik is also awful, even impossible - the trucks would have to lose a day on the coast road from Split to Dubrovnik, and there's no actual way to arrive there except by plane or from Split (where the new Croatian highway finishes), or by boat from Ancona, Italy. - Those are some of the reasons why we withdrew the nomination for Event in Dubrovnik and will probably try to get Zagreb some other year. Also, Dubrovnik is VERY expensive and crowded - like Venice. Lucky we, it's few times smaller, you can pass the main street in old town in 10 minutes:)

Is that it? The whole lot? Or will there be other dates as well?

After those dates the tour will leave Europe. Don't ask me for more dates - nothing is confirmed so far!
