Hi all,

Again, my file has been updated. I've included the Band Members aswell now.
Please check for errors:

In Amsterdam, Leonard Cohen introduced Bob Metzger as "Signature of ..." or something like that... Any idea?

Lizzy,
Your stagelist was perfect! A+ for your memory!

Bye,
Maarten

Set list from Edinburgh, 16 July 2008

Dance me to the end of love
The future
Ain't no cure for love
Bird on the wire (awesome version - the band absolutely nailed it)
Everybody knows
In my secret life
Who by fire?
Hey, that's no way to say goodbye
Anthem

Tower of song
Suzanne
Boogie street
Hallelujah
Democracy
I'm your man
A thousand kisses deep (recitation)
Take this waltz

So long, Marianne
First we take Manhattan
Sisters of mercy
If it be your will (sung by the Webb sisters)
Closing time (fabulous finish - with entire crowd on its feet)

(What was new here, I think, was that there was no Gypsy's Wife, and that the show closed with Closing Time, by which time the Scottish rain was coming down hard; Leonard was worried that we were going to catch our summer colds.)

The concert in Benicassim was part of a bigger music festival, a bit like Glastonbury I suppose... That's why he couldn't play his usual set.

I've updated my file with stagelists one last time before leaving to Edmonton for the Event in a few days. I can't update it frequently from there, so I will add the remaining lists when I'm back in Belgium around August 8th.

Here's the list upto Benicassim:

Take care,
Maarten

Lucca, Italy, 27 July 2008

No surprises here in the set list, but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised just how good the man's voice is these days. He has considerably more power than I remember from the 1988 and 1993 tours, especially evident on the older songs.

A nice outdoor setting in an old Italian square, marred somewhat by poor organization on the part of the promoters, and sound that was a touch too quiet, in my opinion.

Dance Me to the End of Love
The Future
Ain't No Cure for Love
Bird on the Wire
Everybody Knows
In My Secret Life
Who by Fire
Hey, That's No Way to Say Goodbye
Anthem

Intermission

Tower of Song
Suzanne
The Gypsy's Wife
Boogie Street
Hallelujah
Democracy
I'm Your Man
Take This Waltz

Encore #1:
So Long, Marianne
First We Take Manhattan
Sisters of Mercy
If It Be Your Will
Closing Time

Encore#2:
I Tried to Leave You
Wither Thou Goest

Hello Mark,
Lucca was on the 27th, no? Thanks for the setlist anyway!

Can someone confirm what Gio said on another thread: that the setlist for Rome (28th) was the same as the previous ones?

Here's my newest update (upto the Lucca 27th concert)
http://users.telenet.be/maarten.massa/d ... s_2008.pdf

Please keep sending in the setlists!

Maarten (from Canada after a great LC Event!)

Of course it was. I wrote 28th by mistake, now corrected.

Yes yes. The only difference is that in Rome there were 3 'sets' of encores, the first included two songs (So long..., First we take...), the second three songs (Sisters..., If it be..., Closing), the third the last two (I tried..., Whither...).
((And a sidenote to those who were in Athens: I can't say how much I envy you for that addition - Famous Blue Raincoat! I was crossing my fingers for it in Rome.))
