there indeed is a plan to return to Europe next Winter for concert hall gigs.
Thanks for the update Jarkko. This for me is the best piece of news on this whole thread.

I too like the previous poster laughinglenny have no intention to attend any of the open air summer festival gigs for the very same reasons that he states in his post.
These outdoor gigs are surely of interest only to the curious and passing tourists.
Hopefully after the summer circus tour LC will have enough money in his pension plan to sit back and relax, maybe finish off his album and hopefully organise that winter European tour in intimate indoor concert halls.

Roll on winter.

but nobody asked...
I just assumed you meant the 'summer leg' referred to the European dates as opposed to the North American dates in May.

I too am not keen to blow possibly my only chance to ever see Leonard live on standing in the muck at an open-air festival, for the same reasons that everybody else states. I'm far more excited by the prospect of a concert hall date. To me, Leonard is best suited to the atmosphere of an intimate concert hall gig. Roll on winter!

Concert Hall + chair = Big ticket price
Open air + standing or blanket on the floor = people's prices

Not always the case I'm afraid lightning.

Tickets for open air concerts, well here in the UK at least, tend to be more expensive than indoor gigs.

Tickets for Glastonbury for instance are £150 plus all kinds of booking fees.

Of course the higher price for festival gigs is usually warranted by the number of acts available over the day or weekend.

If that's what you want then that's fine, but I'm afraid for a LC concert I would rather be sitting in a seat in a nice warm concert hall in Warsaw, Budapest,Vienna, Berlin, Paris, Amsterdam, Rome, Zagreb, Bucharest or perhaps even Liverpool, but definitely not London:-)

Thank you for adding Bucharest on the list, Ken... not that that ever happened or is EVER going to happen(I don't even dream about that). Would I be too provocative, though, if I asked you why not London?

What have we done to you Ken did you meet a black cab driver or something.

You are right about places like Glastonbury they charge an arm and leg for the pleasure of sitting in a mud soaked field with poor access and crap (if you pardon the pun) toilets.

damellon: I just can't believe my eyes: look who's talking...
as far as any indecent proposals are concerned: I am a pretty good cook (fusion cuisine: Spanish, Peruvian, Japanese, Polish, Jewish, come what may, etc...) should Leonard happen to read this thread he and his Band are cordially invited to come over for a dinner while touring in Spain.
Jarkko and Company: the invitation is extended to you as well. I've even got some Finnish liquor made out of golden cranberries.
It's all free of charge, unless nobody helps with the dishes... ;-)

I'm glad you enjoyed my singing, Deirdre! Why don't you stop grumbling and go to Spain and see him at the Benicassim festival? (not confirmed yet). The mud will be warm there, and so will the sea. The way I see it, Leonard is playing festivals first because he knows there will be a high demand for tickets, and festivals will allow the greatest number of people to see him. If Linda Lakeside were there, we'd be having breakfast on the beach.

Can't a girl have the odd grumble?
See from the festival website, Leonard is now confirmed.
Breakfast on the beach .... tempting.

Well, all right then. Just this once you may grumble.

I don't think it's officially confirmed until we hear on the 11th, although it would be surprising if the festival organisers advertised Leonard as the headline act if it wasn't already in the bag.

I have just realised I put "did you meet a black cab driver" just to save people calling me racist the cab is black the driver can be any colour he wants. This is how wars start!!
