"Muffins or War," has 59 pages. It is also smeared with blood, snot and guts. Only go there if you have a strong constitution. (Constitution :- has many meanings and sub-meanings ) If you do go to its beginning, post number 6 by linmag makes you want to weep or take drastic action !!!!

Well I took a break from writing a Job description to get up to date on the last three pages of Aliens, AEGs, Smileys and realists etc and could not resist your reference to Muffins or War and Linmags post which I think I eventually located - or maybe not?

Weep or drastic action? Put me in the camp of all those who believe Tony Blair (and George Bush) should be hauled off to the Hague and tried as a War Criminal. If it was a choice between the Concert dates being postponed and Blair on trial that would be a price I would willingly pay!

(I am of course just doing my best to stimulate debate and keep this thread ticking over until the fabled announcement arrives - lets hope it does not take as long to locate as those famous weapons of mass destruction!)

Taken that good old LC was once a spy too...

If that is the case how can AEG still be offering tickets for sale on their AEGLIVE website? It has been said so many times now on this Forum that AEG need to either inform us of what is happening or should have shut up and not released an announcement about an announcement about an announcement about an announcement ..................................

It beggars belief that they can treat Leonard Cohen's fans (and incidentally their customers) in this manner. Rob Hallett may well have convinced Leonard to return to touring and for that we can all be extremely grateful but that cannot excuse the appalling manner in which they are now treating the people who pay their wages.

When will AEG realise the damage their own ineptitude is causing?

Thank you for confirming what most of us had expected might be the case.

I guess I was wrong earlier to give AEG the benefit of the doubt. They obviously are sure that these concerts are going to be delayed, and I can only infer from that that they have known ever since they made their "non announcement."

In hope

I have told everyone I wasn't going to comment but on this I can't help myself.

AEG has made no announcement about an announcement. Jarkko provided the members of this forum some advice. Believe it or not he cares about the people on this board and was doing his best to serve all of you, to protect you, to help you, to guide you. He purposely begged permission to share what he thought would be the most important information with you UNTIL an official announcement could be made. I am not suggesting that anyone here is singling Jarkko out for your sour words. But let us remember where we are, this is Jarkko's board. You are in his house. Please do not use Jarkko's efforts to serve you to throw stones at others.

Strange indeed that if the Zenith in Caen have put that notice up outside, then why on their very own website http://www.zenith-caen.fr/tableau.html

You will note that as the "tickertape" moves along at the bottom left and after Information de Derniéres Minutes goes past, first you will see the name Eddy Mitchell, "dates" and "tickets on sale", then Leonard Cohen's name goes past and again, "tickets on sale" for 1st March concert.

Is it any wonder that this has become all so terribly bizarre.

Edit: Thank you Marie for your post. And I can assure you as far as I know, the people on here would not "hurt" jarkko intentionally but with what was to hand, it looked like AEG were somewhat of a guilty party, now we know from your posts they were not involved? then fair play.

I had email response from the Lille promoters earlier today who said they were awaiting information from Leonard Cohen's organisation reference the status of the Lille concert and would notify me immediately of the outcome.

My email to AEG was returned as being unable to deliver. I have been told that somewhere on the Google pages appertaining to LC websites is some comment that AEG had blocked incoming emails connected to Leonard Cohen.

I just indicated my concern and disappointment at the delay of information being available.

Are you defending the actions of AEG?

This company is continuing to sell tickets for concerts they know are not going to take place (and by all accounts, have known since at least 31st January), and are thereby allowing people to spend their hard earned money on tickets for a concert that they know they will be unable to put on? Not to mention the fact that they are allowing people who are not privvy to the advice kindly and dilligently provided by Jarkko on this board to continue making financial commitments for travel and accomodation that will now go to waste?

What possible justification is there for AEG not stopping ticket sales and putting out a statement the second they knew these concerts would be postponed to the tune of "All announced dates for the 2010 LC World Tour have been postponed. Please stand by for further details." ?

I find your post somewhat difficult to understand. I do not believe that anyone has suggested that Jarkko does not care about "the people on this board" - indeed it has been pointed out time and time again that Jarkko is doing the very best he can given that he has both hands "tied behind his back". We may be "in Jarkko's house" but that cannot excuse the appalling customer service offered by AEG. We are not throwing stones at others, we are merely pointing out that if an announcement is to be made it should be made and not promised and then not fulfilled. I suggested emailing AEG and can see nothing wrong with that. If an organisation does not deliver what they should, then it is the right of the customer to question it - in this instance any fan wishing to attend a concert is indeed a customer of AEG and is a member of the public who ultimately pay their wages.

Danslenoir stated
"What possible justification is there for AEG not stopping ticket sales and putting out a statement the second they knew these concerts would be postponed to the tune of "All announced dates for the 2010 LC World Tour have been postponed. Please stand by for further details." ?"

I fail to see how anyone can argue with such a logical and well thought out analysis of the situation.

AEG could solve this problem at the stroke of a pen!
