Mmmmmmm ~ Nope. I'm here to enjoy myself, A'af :D . As a matter of fact, now that I'm here, I'll comment on how precious Einat's childhood photo is ~ and Marcel's impersonation of the "The Stranger Song"  8) .

Can't you stop that profanity?

Better yet, along with that, join in on something here. Not this thread, necessarily ~ but maybe something about Leonard  ?

Check into Greg's new process, and leave my name off your list :) . Easy enough 8) .

Is there a link to this Forum from the map It might be that some of the people who have put themselves on the map have found the map but do not know of this place where we all talk to each other
I do not know about chats, or shout outs, and I guess I need a photo. My computer has neither bell nor whistle for these add-ons. This is a very cool idea. Nice pic, Margaret!

By the time I get my butt in gear, this will be a thing of the past, so I best hurry.

I've already lost out on Greg's 'new process'??? as well as marcel's Stranger Song. It would seem I've missed much.

Hi Linda  ~

The shout-out and pic options are functions of the World Map site. When you first get there, you'll see your name in the box, and can still add, via filling that in....there's somewhere on that main page, where you can "give a Shout-out" [like "Hi from me, Linda, here in Canada, y'know"], that will pop-up when someone clicks on your 'exclamation-point-style, marker tab. Marcel's impersonation can be seen, via his recently posted photo on the World Map site. The chat option, who knows? I don't. I took that Quoted comment to mean here, the Forum, where we all talk to each other. I know, after I read it, I went and searched there, and found nothing that would bring someone here. so, your computer's capabilities have nothing to do with the add-ons. They're all functions of the site.

You already know how to prepare yourself for adding a photo though, right? Like taking a roll of film and getting a cd disc when you get it developed; then putting the disc into your hard drive; and transferring the photos onto your computer? Then doing a Search from the World Map site, in order to access your photo, which say, you maybe had saved to your Yahoo Photo Album, or your My Photos in your My Computer location?

No guarantees on the accuracy of my descriptions above; in fact, I may have butchered them ~ but, that will at least get you started .

Greg's new process will need to be found by reading the rest of the Forum. Of course, you can always shortcut to it, via viewing his latest postings. I haven't done it, as I prefer to read all postings, as much as possible, whether I respond or not.

Hmmm. Computer/car ~ quite the trade-off. Not sure how a dying goat sounds  . I can tell you how a live one sounds, though, and my cars have sometimes sounded like that  .

Nice to see you back here :) .

I guess this means I get a haircut, first. I wonder if my computer has a bell for that? After the cut, the whistles will take care of themselves.

Sometimes these threads just become lost in the midst of all the others :( .

I hope more people from here will go and sign up there 8)  :!:

I hope this topic is 'stickied' also. I haven't looked everyone up yet but will as time goes by.

I got my location loaded okay after I quit trying to upload my picture. Until then I had no luck at all. Then, I went back and tried to add the picture to those in the gallery and still could not upload it. SInce it is the same picture that I am using for the avatar here and is only 60x60 pixels, I don't understand. Can anyone give me a hint? Damn, I've broken the camera again! LOL

Since we must use zip codes no one can come and murder me in my sleep because I am miles from the post office location. That is such a great map too. I actually found my place using the satellite imagery and very fine resolution and ther I was mooning the satellite.

You could try using a real photo of yourself  Or is this a picture of the real you? Maybe the avator is also too small for the purpose of the map.

It is I, done with a Kodak disposable 35mm held at arm's length while making 14 knots westward on a 2 foot swell with a fair wind cross my back and the sun on my shoulders.........

Seems it would upload since the avatar is so small. However, I have the original and will try it also.

Hi Nightstalker ~

The photo looks much calmer than the circumstances you describe.

Still trying to keep this thread at the top. Ah! Just checked and there's Ken ~ nice picture, Ken :D .

Let's hope all will join. It is interesting to know where everyone lives. Plus with this excellent map service you could actually give someone directions right to your front door.

Incidentally, trimarands are inherently very stable. When the winds get up to Force 5, I start thinking about reefing.......... LOL I have been known to bury an ama a foot or two deep from time to time in extreme conditions but I don't have time to take photos then.......

Blimey, I just got my hub to take a pic of me outside so I could finally get my face on here. So now I have added myself. And what do I find? Only that it is possible to click on the pic for an enlarged image, complete with all wrinkles, etc. Now why didn't I change it to a lower resolution before posting? I can't find a way to delete it. The ability of the computer always to get one over on me never ceases. This time, it has surpassed itself.

Diane

Ha! Diane! :D I would never have though of that - thanks for the tip. :D We'll 'see you' later,

Linda.

 ~ With the record it has in my world, I'm surprized it didn't do it with me, too. However, I did have to go through a rather convoluted process of sending a photo I received in an e-mail to Jarkko, by FWing the entire e-mail, and then having him do whatever electronic magic was necessary to make it happen, and then emailing it back to me, and then saving it in something or other, and then FINALLY getting it to the world map  . Thanks, again, Jarkko  :D .

I'm glad to know there's something up now ~ most helpful for Berlin, as opposed to, "Are you Diane? . . . Are you Diane? . . . Are YOU Diane . . . ? Are you Diane? Are you Diane? " ~
okay now... off to see the Wizard... I mean, Diane!"

Love,
Lizzy :D

You're gorgeous, Diane :D ! I knew you had dark hair, just knew it. I pictured your face as having softness and somewhat of a 'roundness,' as your words and messages do and I knew you were very pretty... but you're more delightfully dramatic-looking than I expected 8) . The wrinkles leading to our third eye have taken the same paths. Phil and I have similarities of that nature, and even moreso :) . Your outfit is great 8) !

Well, I should have no problem whatsoever recognizing you now  !

Love,
Lizzy
