i don't know. we may be disappointed in how little of the world we cover. i have two friends who trave REALY a lot, so they did the same thing. on a big map of the world they put red dots where they've been.
well, Europe was all red. USA&Canada looked OK. there was a dot here and there on both costs.
but it didn't look impressive since the whole Asia had two or three dots. Afrika had only a few on the north. Australia, Japan, South America... nothing.
our globe would look even worst. there would be like one dot in India, and nothing else in the whole HUUUGE Asia, Afrika - one dot, South America - how many dots?
it would just be all red in Europe and North America and that's it.
I know. We'll have one dot in China, one in Korea, and few in Australia/NZ... Maybe one in South Africa, two in latin America? I guess UK would be packed.
OK!! Who is making the map available in a thread? Who is putting the little red pins in the places where people are, etc.? I live in Western Canada - almost at the 54-40 line, but not quite. Exact latitude and longitude available upon request. We'll have change of address forms and all that? Great. It'll be fun to look at !!
Well need the map of the world, I guess we can stole some picture from the web. Then it's simple: we open it in Photoshop and put red dots. The finished map can be uploaded i.e. on my & jurica's server, and linked/copied here (the photo needs to be somewhere online so we can paste it here in message).
We could link the dots to the photos in the forum? I manage the web site for my massage therapy association which is why I am at my computer alot. We use an excel spreadsheet for the data base of members it is very easy to use and easy for me to update. It would be more work for Jarrko. I would be happy to offer some time to help out.

Hi Tom,
By bracketing Australia/NZ as you have, is an insult to both the Aussies and the Kiwis!
It reminds me of NZ Prime Minister Robert Muldoon, of some years back who said, that a NZer emigrating to Australia raised the average IQ of both countries...

I just found an interactive globe Google Earth http://earth.google.com/
might be an alternative for now. I flew from Fredericton to Montreal, LA, Croatia, London, Snodland Kent. Some images are better than others, but would have loved to have this when I was learning geography.

It is a fun globe. I did not realize how far away from Australia New Zealand was, Tasmania is closer. Wouldn't you know it Tibet is not there, poor Tibet.

What have I started?! It was just a wild idea. I didn't expect people to go dotty about it. 1,600 dots required, and about half of the members haven't given their country/town of residence so that creates a bit of a problem. Tom/Tri-Me, as this was my idea please be sure to enlist my labour if you figure out a way to it.
