Hello all,

It's that time of year again! Has any sign of a new collection appeared yet?

Hi

No news so far, but I've been checking Apple Music regularly whenever I think of it...
Apple Music (Canada): https://music.apple.com/ca/artist/leonard-cohen/485677
I'm not sure whether they would add new albums to the category "Albums" or to "Live Albums" so I always check both options. :-)

If anyone stumbles upon extra releases: do let us know!

Thanks
Maarten

'69 was my first Leonard Cohen year, so the sound of these years is very special to me. Thank you very much in advance.
I think it is illegal to do that. It is a act of breaking copyright.

Would any kind soul be willing to share these copyright recordings via PM with me. If they’d be officially available for purchase I would do so instantly. Was lucky enough to buy 2 of Dylan’s previous copyright releases but there’s just not enough early Cohen material officially available.
Thanks in advance whoever may be willing to privately share.

I guess there is now a gap for 3 years. This 1970-71 Copyright Extending Collection contains 1971 sessions outtakes from 1971 album - Leonard's next, fourth album was released only in 1974. (So 2024 is the year for all unreleased tracks to go into the copyright extension). That means we could expect these tracks around Christmas 2023 to appear for one day on streaming.

But after 1971 album there was 1972 tour (and we know from various sources that at least London, Bruxelles and Paris shows were recorded and some songs were included on 1973 Live Songs album). This 1970-1971 collection included unreleased recordings of shows from LC's first 1970 tour. If Columbia recorded anything during 1972 tour (and alas, this is the tour recorded for Tony Palmer's film) the final point for securing extension of copyright is I guess December 2022.

Hello,
I'd would be grateful if someone could help me find these recordings. I've been looking for a while and I could never find these releases.
Regards
Matthias

Came across this Shazam page while looking for a possible 1972 copyright release. Stockholm 1972 (at least) appears to have been put out there in some form. The album cover is right in line w/ the previous official copyright releases. Does anyone have a line on these releases? I assume they've already been pulled.

Thanks for this really interesting information. I had the first set but unfortunately missed the following releases. As far as I’m concerned 1972 live is the holy grail as far as Leonard live shows. Hope to get to hear these and the studio outtakes someday.
