New Poetry Comp.
this is an excellent analysis although, judging from his posts, I doubt that ydf is bright enough to follow it.tom.d.stiller wrote:My dear Freudless Young Dr.,
maybe you're right, maybe you're wrong. Let's call you saying some new member is a fake while she / he is genuine your alpha error. Your beta error then would be that you don't accuse the new member although he / she really is fake.
Now let's evaluate which error is worse.
The beta error will deprive your ego of some sugar. No further damage will be done. The alpha error will drive genuine members away from this forum.
But there's one more evaluation to be made. Your alpha error won't be detected. If the member is genuine or not, you will drive her / him away.
The conclusion is: if you keep accusing new members of being fake you will only feed fake sugar to your ego. Your strategy is absolutely truth-proof. Your propositions cannot be falsified, which makes them unscientific.
Besides they can do real damage to the whole forum.
I'd rather have you resume some serious study, and try to prefer the beta error.
Don't blow your ego up too much:
It might explode on the softest touch.
Tom
PS: Welcome to the forum, Anne-Marie.
I used to approach trolls with the primary tests of whether they are any good at trolling and always discarded ydf on that basis alone. However, a second test might be whether, even though a poor troll, did he contribute any decent poems or other writing here. Obviously he would again fail at that.
But an extra factor emerged recently when ydf asserted Martine was really me. (I can't remember if it was ydf or one of the other baby trolls who started that one, at the very least he repeated it) Poor Martine, whatever wrongs she has ever done in her Internet life, she can not deserve *that* suggestion.
When Lizzy, with her usual grace, corrected ydf he squirmed and, surprise surprise, didn't have the guts to apologise to Martine.
I am delighted that Martine has said she will still enter the comp. It's a shame that ydf is still selling his poorly performed one trick with a side-line of crap accusations.

Dear Mr. Stiller,
Poor deluded soul. I am always right. Let me clue you in. There are very few "genuine" members posting on this forum. I count about fifteen.
The rest are mostly Critic2. He takes a very perverse delight in pulling the strings of all his puppets. But the strings he likes to manipulate the most belong to the "genuine" members such as yourself.
As for Anne-Marie the tip-off was when she emerged on the Lesbian Thread in her lacy black negligee. How obvious can you get. I knew however, that she would soon work her way here. Even wearing a pegnoir, Critic2 can't keep away from his beloved poetry contest threads.
YdF
P.S. Oh, by the way, Critic2 is also the Russian Slut.

Dear Mr. Stiller,
Poor deluded soul.
I know all. I see all.
I saw Critic2 grinning as he picked his avatar for the pouty Anne-Marie. I saw him chortling as he answered Lizzytysh's message to "Martine." He laughed aloud as he read your defense of his puppets.
Do you not wish him to get better? Do you not want him to be whole, healthy and integrated? Then desist from your futile efforts to dissuade me from my duty.

LL, I am better now. But I do have just one little wish IGNORE THE BABY TROLL ydf. He wants to sabotage the contest. In the same way that it has not occurred to him to apologise to Martine, it has not occurred to him to actually take part in a poetry exercise here either. It would be very easy to finish him off now as he is rather panicking and getting more random than ever with his suggestions. But a much nicer death for him will be to ignore him totally.linda_lakeside wrote:Apparently earlier this morning, I put C2 in the hospital. I'm very sorry about that but I think the poor man deserves some compassion.
Critic2/Mickey/Anne-Marie/Harry Harpin/Russian Slut/ etc. etc. etc.
Just how many alias's do you have now?

in return for that kind thought I hereby donate to you the copyright and all financial interest in my poem dedicated in your honour earlier today.linda_lakeside wrote:Apparently earlier this morning, I put C2 in the hospital. Tough crowd. Sorry for causing trouble, I was just curious about the poetry competition but did not fully understand the boundaries. What exactly is a fake person? I can promise you I am a genuine Leonard fan, and neither Russian or a Robot.
Thank-you for your words Tom and Lizzy, also for your warm welcome.

Please be assured Anne-Marie that you did not cause any trouble whatsoever. As far as the boundaries of the competition are concerned, your guess is as good as mine. I just wait for the news. As for your other questions, I really can't answer. It's such a long, sad story. Much of which I haven't been here to witness.

I wish Critic2 to get better. I wish everyone to be "whole, healthy and integrated". This includes you.
But I'll desist my futile efforts to dissuade you from your delusion.
