Goldin wrote:...What about prologues, blessings, recitations? It would be great to put them together.
There was, I think, thread (or an attempt) to collect all final blessings... Recitations - there was thread which enlisted all variations in A Thousand Kisses Deep recitation.

But you're right, we should put them all one day to the websites. I guess that "old" webmasters are tired, busy and indeed old nowadays:P Maarten i.e. did all setlists 2008-2010, what's amazing achievement, and some did try to download and save all YouTube uploads as they will not be forever online. But maybe some new people should try to write down all recitations and prologues, and then existing websites can add them to existing data base (e.g. to Marc Gaffie's website). Every new help or afficionado is always welcomed! (PS I can help such job with all existing audience recordings from 2008-10. tour, have them all).

Yes, I've read the thread about the final blessing and was so impressed at it's Biblical origin.

By recitations I mean not only "A Thousand Kisses Deep", but each and every poem. Some of them ("Sorrows of the Elderly" in Hobart, for example) are missed by Maarten. Nevertheless, his work is fundamental 8)

I'm newcomer here, so the only sources I know are Youtube & Dime.

That's why I'm astonished at your ultimate collection! ...So, I believe you just have to do something generally useful with this amazing treasure!

How can I (can we, certainly) help you?

Hi Tom and Goldin,

Tom: Don't tempt Jarkko into a running-up-the-hill-to-the-monastary-contest with you by calling him "old and tired", he might drop dead right there on the spot (which would be a fitting way to end his life as a Leonard Cohen fan: passing away on Hydra...). But indeed we might have to think about the future for certain websites once the elderly people can't anymore :-). I'm glad to see Artur is taking care of the LeonardCohenLive website and that the prologues site has found a couple of new webmasters in Patrice Clos and Olivier Mory.

Goldin: thanks for pointing me to the missing poem from the Hobart concert. Any idea when it was recited (after which song...). Let me know and I will include it in my list. I know my compilation isn't perfect, but it's very close to perfection (I hope) with only a couple of minor doubts/mistakes. Any help/updates/... are still very welcome. Perhaps one day, someone (me, if I find the time & courage) can use this list to create an online database like the Bob Dylan (can't recall the website...?) one, which says how many times each song has been played, etc... I also like the idea behind this book: http://leonardcohenfiles.com/book28.html

Lots of work to be done, guys!

Maarten

(just finished scanning and uploading my setlists sheets for Wendy, link: http://www.maartenmassa.be/images/Album ... index.html
it also includes a couple of other docs...)

Edit: Bob Dylan: http://hisbobness.info/ Great stuff (the website, not the singer, Ken!)

Hi Maarten!

Thank you for sharing the setlist collection, particularly "a couple of other docs"! A stage plot is awesome, looks more sacral than Stonehenge
Maarten wrote:Bob Dylan: http://hisbobness.info/ Great stuff (the website, not the singer, Ken!)
I'll say! :)

I know similar site, containing some info about LC sets: http://www.setlist.fm/stats/leonard-cohen-bd6d12a.html
But: 1) 2008-2010, even not complete, 2) many mistakes.
It's better to keep this database ourself, for sure.
Maarten wrote:I also like the idea behind this book: http://leonardcohenfiles.com/book28.html
By the way, "every known venue" - that's exactly the same as my own dream to make a collection of Google Maps marks (so called KML file) to indicate all LC venues.

The other project is a grandiose KML with most important points - houses, studios, notable concert halls, places, mentioned in his songs... I hope Cohenites will help me. And I hope I'll have enough time. Probably, this August.

Yes, I think so, your compilation is excellent. I have only two extra notes:
p. 205 - you forgot to mention it was the debut of "The Darkness"
p. 241 - Moscow setlist was posted here: viewtopic.php?f=44&t=23154&start=45#p252396

Maarten,

Thanks for all the great work. As the next step I would love to see a list of all the songs performed on the recent tour, and how many times each one was performed (I believe many songs were performed in every concert, but some only a few times). Why? Why not? I just love lists 8)

Doron

Oh, let me anticipate Maarten's answer by a brief review, cause I love lists too! ;-)

39 songs were played at least for once. I consider "A Thousand Kisses Deep" an independent number, because it is, and don't include other recitations as they just forestall songs.

New Zealand have heard "A Night Comes On" solely (2nd gig in Auckland, 29 Oct 10). It's the only song from the tour without video recordings (as far as I know).

39 songs are:
4 - of Leonard Cohen
2 - from a Room
2 - of Love and Hate
5 - for the Old Ceremony
0 - of a Ladies' Man
1 - Recent
5 - Various Positions
6 - of Our Man
5 - from the Future
3 - Ten New
0 - to Heather
2 - in London (recitation + a capella)
4 - very new

Here I've done a list of links to Youtube search of HD videos, song by song:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Sereb ... 08-2010_HD
Hope, you'll enjoy it!

Goldin (or is it Roman?),

Thank you very much for the list. I must say I was surprised by it; only 39 songs? I thought he performed more. I hope one of you guys will also come up with fuller list of songs and how many times each one was performed.

Doron,

The pleasure is mine, you know!
I believe I listed every song. In any case, Maarten will correct me as needed, I used his setlists.

At first, we have to check out unconfirmed lists. In Maarten's volume they are:
p. 115 - Swan Valley, Australia, 7 Feb 2009
p. 134 - Saskatoon, Canada, 28 Apr 2009
p. 159 - Toulouse, 9 Jul 2009
...and I wrote about Moscow setlist above

P.S.
Roman is better, right, that's my name :)

Roman,

On rereading my earlier post I realized I did not express myself clearly. Of course, I accept that your list of 39 songs performed on the tour is a full one (although I was surprised by this number). I’m sure you’ve examined all the data carefully. My wish was to see all those songs listed up, with the indication of how many times each one was performed during the tour (even if a few question marks are still left). Thank you and Maarten very much for all your work.

Doron,

It's OK, I understand you.
Alas, I don't have enough time. The next three weeks will be too intensive and nervous. But I like the idea.

Tom,

I know about the only recording of "Hallelujah". I'll report any good news.
...and I've send a message to you. Did you receive it?
