...as it happens Milica Tomic the Serbian filmaker and artist has contributed to an exhibition opening here in Liverpool on Friday 'MyWar' which has a similar theme 'a radically personal look at conflict in the digital age' ....so it will be interesting to compare the ideas and images from both exhibitons.........

.......i didn't realise that luka467 was the very same Luka that you are responsible for........tell him I hope he has access to some very big spades because as an honoured guest in your city I shall be expecting him and maybe a couple of his friends to walk a few yards in front of me at all times during my visit shovelling a clear pathway through the snow for me and all the other Cohenites......

Absolutely, Paul.
Edo Murtic is one of the Croatia's most famous modern artists (recently deceased). The exhibition was inspired by the siege of Sarajevo in the 1990s.
Three major points to see this exhibition: it's open on Monday, on Mondays it's FREE, and the Gallery is cross the street of the Palace hotel!
Website of the gallery ("Artistic Pavilion"):
http://www.umjetnicki-paviljon.hr/en/
It's located in Zrinjevac - series of parks which connects railway's Central station and the main Jelacic-square. (hotel Palace is in the middle.)
That palace on the corner left, behind the Pavillion, with the tower, is Hotel Palace. This photo is taken from Central Station's tram stop, and the statue is King Tomislav, first Croatian king from 10th century. Of course, I am named after him.

Well, according to the website, they're now also closed on Mondays and there's no more "free Mondays" also... Jeez
But on Saturday, they work until 7pm, so we can make it, or on Tuesday morning...

Wishing everyone who will be in Zagreb this weekend a wonderful time. I hope the Spring weather won't cause too much inconvenience.
I wish I could be there with you all but I will have the pleasure of meeting up with some of you in July. I have enjoyed seeing all the photos and reading all the tips on places to see, things to do and beers to look out for when we get there in the summer.

Skup se trebao poklopiti s izvornim datumom Cohenova koncerta, a obuhvaća i nekoliko javnih događanja: projekciju svih videospotova Leonarda Cohena u sklopu Profilovih 5.
Povodom zagrebačkog koncerta u srpnju, Cohenov hrvatski sajt i knjižara Rockmark najavljuju izložbu Cohenovih memorabilija za lipanj, a osim nedavno tiskanih dviju knjiga o Cohenu, Leonard Cohen: Hallelujah Tima Footmana (Menart) i Raznoliki stavovi: život Leonarda Cohena Ire Nadela (Naklada Ljevak), očekuje se i broj časopisa Quorum posvećen Cohenovoj poeziji.

Spotovi Leonarda Cohena na 5. danima multimedije u Profilu!
U okviru 5.
No prvi pravi Cohenov klip je Dance Me To The End Of Love, koji je 1984. režirala poznata francuska fotografkinja Dominique Issermann, koja je 1988. režirala i First We Take Manhattan. Uz te spotove, prikazat će se i Take This Waltz (1986), Closing Time (1992), The Future (1993), neobjavljeni spot za Democracy (1993), Dance Me To The End Of Love (Cohen Live, 1994), Because Of (2005), kao i nagrađivani spot In My Secret Life ugledne videoumjetnice Florije Sigismondi, koji je u Hrvatskoj 2001/2002. mjesecima bio na vrhovima top-ljestvice HTV-ove glazbene emisije Hit depo.
Danima multimedije prikazuje leonardcohencroatia.com, uz podršku Menarta (menart.hr) i portala Muzika.hr. Uvodnu riječ daje web-master Cohenove svjetske web-stranice leonardcohenfiles.com, Jarkko Arjatsalo.

To make it short, this is Leonard Cohen week in Zagreb.
Tomorrow at 5pm Jarkko and I are screening video clips at the biggest bookstore in the city, as the part of their Multimedia Week.
On Monday, there's our tribute show at SAX! club, with Tower of Songs, and Henning Franz as the guest.
Next week, it's Leonard Cohen Week at the rock bookstore ROCKMARK (part of the Croatian music portal muzika.hr) - Croatian editions of Favourite Game, Book of Longing, Footman's and Nadel's biographies are on discount. Also, one lucky person will get the ticket for the almost-sold-out July show.
In the end, the PR from our website mentions Leonard's manager Mr. Kory's greeting for the attendees of the Zagreb mini-event and confirms that Leonard is cured and that the world tour BEGINS in Zagreb July 25th.
At this very moment, Jarkko is probably landing (JuraJ is there with the car) so let's do some party!

As I mananged to sprain my ankle by slipping on the ice on Friday,

I have not been playing as big a part in things as I would like. But we all had a good meal on friday and Tom's videospot event at Profil on saturday had an enthusiastic reception and applause for Jarrko! The really good news is that Zagreb has decided to turn spring like with lovely warm sunny days ...And Tom and Jura continue to show our guests around the city and its museums and, from time to time, bars!!!
