Hi Lizzy,

You're too fast :D I should have emailed you first but so far almost everyone has said that's it's almost impossible to carry on a conversation at HT without shouting. I can understand Walsh's concern with the younger daughter of his friend but I think the Fox Grille would be fine for her also, and if that doesn't work for him then we can meet up in the lobby of the Fox when the doors open early! (Does that work for you, Walsh?) It would be nice to have a quieter place to eat. Seems everyone is okay with the Town Pump for after the concert!

I agree with you and also hope to meet everyone. Name tags might be a good idea, OR, Sheila in Vancouver has a great idea that she's using tonight. A plain helium balloon with leonardcohenforum.com written across it! What do you think? Then no one can miss us when we enter the Fox! :D 8) ;-) Ideas anyone?

Diana

ps..we can also pm each other our cell numbers, sort of like we did at the Beacon.

Sounds good- I will tune in as we get closer to the show to get a heads up on what the plan is. I am downtown so if anyone has any questions or needs a bit og "leg work" I am here to help!

Well thanks for the concern everyone but we will just be going our own way. Frankly I can't wait for May 9 to be over with now. LOL.

I still can't get rid of my extra ticket even for free to family and friends. So that has been annoying me. I'm at the point now where I'd like a friend to join me and let them use the ticket since there seems to be no chance it will be sold.

At the rate it's going, I'll just leave right after the show as I don't want my friend's driver with his car service business to have to be out later than he has to be. He lives about 30 mins. out of my area and will be my driver home.

For those that suggested the Foxtown Grill.. Here is the menu and price list. I know it is in or around the Fox building (so I wouldn't think my friends could get in not going to the show. I don't know if we can park at the Fox now either without them staying for the show):

Walsh-
I too have may 9th anxiety! ugh...I can't wait for it to be here. I hope you find someone to sell your ticket to.

Diana-
I'm sure anyone would be able to spot the helium balloon! What about 99, red balloons...no way anyone would miss those! (just kidding) ;-) Are you saying one person get a balloon and everyone meet in the general area? I dunno if it's possible but we could start a picture thread so we wouldn't pass each other by...I just realized that I honestly have NO idea what anyone from the forum looks like except Fred, The Monkey with the Plywood Violin, who is so polite to post his pictures!

Well I'm in a much better mood and it must be once again the good wishes of fellow posters helping out.

I just checked my e-mail. Got an e-mail from StubHub last night informing me that someone also in Michigan bought my $150 ticket yesterday!! It went for $136 and StubHub takes about $20 for themselves. They tell me I'll be getting $115.00 back.

That's cool. I expected to take some loss. $35 aint bad. The lowest I was willing to let it go for was $125. It started out at $145.

Talk about a pleasant surprise and this is one less thing over my head to help me fully enjoy May 9.

Hi Walsh,

I am THRILLED you were finally able to unload your extra ticket, even though you did take a bit of a loss, but not as bad as if the whole ticket went unsold! It must be quite a relief. That's one reason I'm sticking with my original seats although I've been sorely tempted to upgrade to the pit. I'm looking forward to meeting up with you possibly in the Fox lobby after the doors open early for the will-call fans!

Cara - Love the idea of the 99 red balloons! Visualizing attempting to drive a car with 99 balloons stuffed inside is sort of scary ;-) plus the possibility of taking off like Mary Poppins :D . Think I'll stick either with the helium balloon idea (seems to have worked great in Vancouver!) or maybe name tags. No rush on this but if you guys would like to have a bite to eat with us at the Fox Grille just let me know up to a week ahead. Otherwise we'll all get together in the lobby of the Fox Theater. Not long now! :D :D

All the best,
Diana

I still think the balloon is the best idea, as you have to first encounter every person with a name tag, and in the crush of people that can be just impossible... even with the will-call, Forum people. Remember how it was at the Beacon? I didn't even get to see all of Lorca's photos, much less see each person in the crowd, had that been my goal. The balloon will stand out as to exactly where you need to move toward to meet up. I vote Balloon.

Couple of questions/notes. We're about 2-weeks away from the show.

Has the final verdict been reached? Fox Grill? I can ask my friends. Since they are doing me a favor driving I leave the choice to them but I insist on paying for them.

I guess anything is possible especially since I didn't think my ticket would be sold. But do you think this show will sell out? Officially that is. LOL. Checking TM.com that 5th row seat in one of the pits has been sitting there still for well over a week and plenty of main floor seats still left.

Again, I'll say it's rare around that adult alternitive/folk acts (whatever you choose to call them) sell out big venues here. It would be nice to see LC do it but the economy is tough and not many "local yocals" even know who he is as I've stated before.

It would be nice to hear if 93.9 The River or WCSX 94.7 Classic Rock played some LC tunes leading up to the show as they do for other legendary acts when they come to town. But I highly doubt this will happen. That will mean no word over the radio at least, if the show sold out or not. I'm sure one of the area newspapers will do a review and give the attendance.

I don't recall if this has been posted already but I checked Fox Town Grill's website again. Needed to see if they have a dress code.

But they don't open until 5pm on Sat. Dont know if that will cause a time problem for some. I THINK it is right inside the Fox building itself though so that could help with time.

Hi Walsh.

No dress code at the Fox Grille and we're going to be there right at 5pm so we can be early at the Fox. The restaurant is in the opposite direction of HockeyTown on the other corner. It is sort of expensive but think I'll just have a pizza or salad; however, it is much quieter. I noticed that for reservations of more than 6 people they charge an 18% service charge so perhaps if anyone else wants to have a bite to eat there, we should just make our own reservations. However, the doors to the Fox should be opening at either 6 or 630pm and we can all meet up there too for a drink or just to chat. I will probably be the only one lounging around with a helium balloon 8) ;-) so feel free to come on over and say hi!

I have heard Leonard on WCSX (almost had to pull off the road  )! And I know that the CBC out of Windsor does air a song or two of his every know and then in the afternoon, but not sure about 93.9. It would be nice if they did add some of his songs to their programming leading up to the concert.

All the best,
Diana

Thanks Di for that info.

As a matter of fact I got a prompt e-mail back from Fox Town Grill. The woman said the only thing they "frown apon" is ripped jeans and tank tops. No problem for me there, as depending on Michigan weather, I'll be in a suit if it's not too warm out.

She did also note to make reservations on show nights.

Yes. She said the location is right in the Fox Building, south of the theater doors.

Okey-dokey, Di. Sounds good. Can you make the reservation for us, then?

Walsh... I'll be one o'the ones with her. Possibly even still holding the balloon  ... maybe she'll bring two, one for each of us.

Okay guys, I'm just now catching up. My idea is - why don't you all just carry a monkey with you and then you can all just toss your monkeys onstage to Leonard at the same time. We are always looking for the unusual, attention (from the people on stage) -grabbing scenario - I think this would do it    and it would entertain all on stage (we need to reciprocate for all they do for us  )and bring out that famous LC smile and chuckle. Besides, I think Fred may be getting lonely   .

Warmest regards,
Mary
