Hello to all -
[quote][quote="barbarita"]NPR is broadcasting the
entire Beacon Theater show on program "Evening Music" 8pm Sat. March 7(....I'm listening to tonight's program(including Judy Collins singing Cohen songs) and just heard the announcer mention tomorrow night's show. (I am 99% sure he just said the whole thing would be on; it is a regular 3 hour radio program, so that's enough time!!!
This is so great, on top of the excerpts they've already put on....I was there on Feb. 19, will be out of town tomorrow but hope enough of you get to catch it.

Unfortunately, not the entire concert - just the previous podcast.

And, unfortunately, again... I missed it. Too late and/or just can't get it. Been trying and started late, though figured it'd still be going.

Hi Lizzy -
It is still on air but now it's Nina Simone and Judy Collins doing LC material. I believe the podcast is still available from NPR.org - All Songs Considered.
All the best,
michael

Oh, shoot, Michael, I wish I hadn't given up. Really too late now... except in archives, but that'll be okay, too. Still, I searched and searched and came up with nothing. Not meant to be for last night.
Thanks for letting me know, though, Michael.

The show is still available, so don't fret. NPR didn't play the entire show last night, they played the same 12 wonderful songs that have been on their site for a week or so. You can easily load this onto ITunes. The link is

An extra treat: the NPR set list doesn't include Leonard Cohen's recitation of A Thousand Kisses Deep, but it's in the download. I was blessed to be at the Beacon. Best concert I've ever seen, and was sooooo happy. A Thousand Kisses Deep brought little tears of joy and passion. Enjoy!
Warm regards,
Jacqueline

Thank you, Jacqueline, for your help on this. Now, if only I can learn what ITunes is all about and how to do it

.
And I JUST, literally just, finished telling someone:
"Yeah, you and me both on the techno stuff. Hope my life never depends on doing anything like that. I'll be a goner

. Past tense. History."
Such interesting timing, eh

?
And THAT recitation is something I want so much.
Thanks for your help, Jacqueline. I'll poke around and see if I can figure out anything on it.

I had never used ITunes before loading the Beacon show. Just take your time and have some patience. They have instructions that will walk you through, and I didn't get it right the first time. Always new things to learn and well worth the effort.

To all:
Many apologies to my incorrect information originally posted, that this was going to be the whole show. Well, I didn't say I was 100% sure. Mea culpa!!!!

Barbarita,
Don't feel bad. Rumors are goofy things, and you had good intentions. At least the word got out that the show is available even though not the whole thing. It's a gift that there's so much to enjoy.

I had originally listed in this space a link to a site that offered each of the 12 songs from the NPR webcast program for individual download.
NPR has sent notification to the effect no site has been granted the rights to make much modifications of their download.
My policy has been and continues to be that if a copyright owner wishes content removed from my web sites, I remove it. In this case, I didn't directly offer the actual files but I suppose the same principle applies so I've eliminated the link from my site, and I'm also editing out the link from this forum entry lest it cause problems for leonardcohenforum.com or for anyone using this site.

I've been away (in Africa) and seem to have missed out on the podcast.
Would someone be prepared to burn it onto a CD for me ?

You can still do it yourself from
http://www.npr.org/templates/player/med ... =101161555
It is only the version which has individual tracks marked which has been removed. But earlier in this thread, there are instructions on how to do that too.
I keep listening to the podcast ... has anyone else spotted that just before several songs Leonard instructs the band to "let her go" !!!!

Thanks for the link Paul Zagreb, I'm enjoying the concert as I type. You tube is great but its nice to hear such a clear recording. Mr. Cohen's voice is great.

Just downloaded this, my first ever podcast! This will keep me going until the Live CD is out and will be one to keep forever, especially hearing Chelsea Hotel and the Partisan which won't be on that CD.
And the 1000 kisses deep recitation moved me to tears again, same as last summer.
Thank you to Leonard, his management and NPR for allowing FREE access to this wonderful concert.
