Well, the real thing live was better than what I saw on tv tonight.

The Halleluja clip was not the same. Good but not as the one I saw on June 26. This one that I saw that night on the dark street was Image

We had cable trouble in town last night, we didn't get the broadcast show. Judging from another post elsewhere, they seem to have cut out some of the best? No Buffy? No Steven Page? No Madeleine Peyroux? No Katie Melua?
Well no happy Snoopy today. :?

What do I read here? Another post about this tribute not logically posted in this thread or at least in the tribute section? Where are all the janitors? This bord is getting messy. :D Maybe we should began WWIII over this artist that brings inner peace and so much joy to his fans all over the world. Please people. 8) hehe.

My Darling, strange enough, they used Peyroux's part in the add for this tribute.

But.

No Peyroux.

Any Buffy, not a bit of her.

No Steven Page who performed his guts out on that stage this night.

Is it due to managements and rights? You know those sorts of things sometimes stand in the way of art and pleasure.

But all in all that was not bad.

Just not as good as the real thing.

(And the real thing was not to be compared to "the" real thing : the show at Place des Arts. I wonder when I will finally write about it. The water is still too troubled for me to do it, that's why.

Anyway for me the Halleluja clip with the close-up on Leonard Cohen face was the peak of this tribute, all the rest was like - more like an agreable humming that was lasting in the summer night. Sorry. This is how I am.

No need to be sorry, what could be better than our Lenny? To see him sing again was the main reason I wanted to see the broadcast too.

On Arte they did have Buffy and I think all the others, maybe we'll get it on ARTV some day. Anyways, I'm not really surprised, having lost all my faith in Radio-Canada when they replaced my Watatatow by La cage aux lionnes.

BTW, I saw a mysterious Chocolatl (without the T) on another site the other day. Is a poor soul trying to copy you my dear or do you indulge in the holy game of poker?

Thanks for your kind words. Strange that I would never have the reflex to call him "our Lenny" or "my Lenny", or even "Lenny". I usually pronounce Léonard Cohen in French like I have heard his name for the first time. Or if I say it in English : Leonard Cohen. Léonard in French is a really great sound. Leonard Cohen in English is also a really geat sound. The impact of a sound - I do believe that sounds have an impact on the world like an object on another object, and names as sounds do have an impact.

Speaking about that, I only use my nick on that board.

The real word is Xocolatl

English speaking people because of the sound turned it generally into : Chocolatl
French speaking people generally into : Tchocolatl

"Alt" means "water" (or liquid) and "Tchoco" (or "Choco" or "Xoco") means "noise" for the noise that was made while they were whiping the beverage called Xocolatl.

As for poker, I could not play that game. I am all the contrary of a poker face, even on the net, I would be transparent.

Ah!. The Stranger Song. One of my favourite. At some time I did indulge myself to listen to it again and again. What a song :

For some reason, it would never cross my mind to say anything else than the complete name out loud, mostly pronounced in French also, but when I write, it's different, I'm not sure why.

Very interesting, ma chère. :)

Talking about poker, I started to play (mostly free tournaments) about at the same time as I started to check out this forum. And when I told people I was playing poker, automatically people thought about gaming addiction. However I did not become addicted to poker, I became addicted to this forum !!! Nobody had warned me about that!

He is the shining star. 8)

He is the fire of the sky and the fire of the earth. The branches of the trees and the food. He is the blues of the falling night and the mysteries of its darkness. The peace of its depth and the chant of the crickets.

P.S. : and I am Woodstock

I agree with all of this. Absolutely.
