Yeah Metcheck is also saying good weather but they are not always reliable. However I asked Paul the amazing world cup octopus via facebook and he said no rain!!!!!! Surely they won't both be wrong ;-)

Car parking will be provided at several locations near to Lissadell, however it may be quite a walk from some parks.
Cars will travel a separate route from shuttle-buses, and coaches.
There will be plenty of signage and Gardai on duty directing traffic.
It is expected that farmers in the area will open fields for parking.
Concert goers are advise to take note of where they park.

Gods Take Note:
We're having a Heatwave, (source weathergossip.com)
UNSETTLED WITH RAIN OR SHOWERS
After such a dry warm and sunny June (the driest for nearly 70 years in Malin Head) it has come as a bit of a shock to the system all of the rain that is falling in July. It looks set to continue this way for most of the month too especially in the North and West where the rainfall figures will be well above normal for the first month this year. There are hints that the last 10 days of the month could see a European heatwave bringing some of its influence over Ireland but it would probably benefit more Southern and Eastern areas most.Up to then we are looking at a very wet week this week with over 40mm of rain in some parts of the country adding on to the 40mm that a lot of the country say over the weekend just gone. Temperatures will be around the July average of 16 to 20c. The only plus side is nights should be relatively mild.

I know many of you enjoyed the fine article on Leonard and Lissadell in last Saturday's Irish Independent,
"When Two Old Treasures Meet". (see News section on the Forum )
Watch out for next Saturday's Irish Independent "Saturday Review" section ( page 24) for another article by Nick Kelly in which he interviews Sharon Robinson and Charley Webb :) .
I have been trying for a number of years to arrange for Ireland's well known interviewer,
Turtle Bunbury, ( google him :?: ) author, historian and ardent Leonard Cohen fan,
to hold an interview with Leonard himself,
alas without much success but we live in hope,
if anything should ever come of our efforts the Forum will be the first to know
:!: ;-).

Well I hope you're right about the heatwave, Jeney!
The past month in Achill has been wet and windy. Tends to improve in the evenings tho, so could be fairly okay for Lissadel.
I'd advise wet weather gear, and warm clothing. At least midges are keeping a low profile!
Anne

Nice one! Don't need a heatwave, just sunshine! I reckon the 40mm of rain we are due this week fell today! Well in Kildare anyway ;-)

Thank Ladydi and Lizzytysh for your sound advice. I did not mean to be instrusive on Leonard's time. I thought I read he was giving press interviews and meeting fans.
My parents went to all his Irish concerts up to 2009. My dad passed away quite suddenly at Christmas. The book signing was for my mother. She is some years older than Leonard, her memory is failing now, she spends much time listening to LPs of Leonard that have been in the house forever, this brings her calm and consolation. At the end of this month we are bringing her to Sligo for the 2 concerts. We will be delighted to meet you all, this forum is a great source and service to us, seeing and hearing Leonard live will be our reward, Joe.

Hi Joe,

So sorry to hear of your Dad's passing....so difficult especially around a Holiday time. How sweet and wonderful though that your Mom finds comfort in Leonard's songs, and I'm thrilled that she will be with you in Sligo for the concerts. Hopefully there might be a serendipitous moment when you "run into" Leonard and can ask if he would sign her book. I'm sure it would be something she would treasure.

I'll keep an eye out for you in Sligo. It would be nice to say hello to you and your Mom! :D

All the best,
Diana

Hello Joe,

My sympathies on the loss of your father. Like Diana, I also hope that you have the good fortune to meet LC while walking the streets of Sligo. May these concerts bring your mother and your family continued calm and consolation.

Looking forward to meeting you and your mother in Sligo.

Kindest regards,
Mary

Yes there will be food stalls and bars on the Venue grounds,
laid out in much the same style as Kilmainham 2008 8) .

I apologise in advance if this question has already been answered by one of you guys (I have glanced through the pages and have not found it) but I am unable to book the priority bus tickets online as I do not have a credit card (yes I am a Neanderthal). Is it possible to buy them on the day of the concert?
