Amazing, is n't it ? Some people I know say "how could you spend over 100 Euro to see Leonard Cohen AGAIN ? But I would nearly spend as much NOT to see Michael Flatley, yet his first concert is sold out and they are ( vigorously ) advertising a second. No accounting for tastes, is there ?

Logic tells me that would be impossible....... Unless of course people could type as quick as he can dance

Fabulous photos Sandraa!! The area is lovely and your weather was perfect! I loved all your photos but the last one of the sun filtered through the shower at sea is enchanting. Looks like the countryside will be fun to investigate. Don't want to rush things.....but I can't wait

More great photos Sandraa. I especially love the one of the tree with the shodow which looks like a stag. Very clever. Hope the weather is as good for the concert. What am I saying!! Of course it will be.

Sandraa, I say if you sent those photos to Leonard he would love them!!! They reflect spirituality, life, meaning, love, attachment, loss and all that he represents for me anyway.

Thanks. Will have to try and convince my friend to stop there on the way Friday as I'd like to see it in person.

There's a great little coffee shop at the Churchyard where Yeats is buried, there's the remains of a tower , an ancient cross, the riverside walk which i photographed the children running down and the beautiful church. It's a great place to stop off and the cakes are beautiful.I'd recommend it.
Re- sending photos to Leonard how would i go about that

Hi Sandraa,
I would suggest sending an email to Robert Kory who is Leonard's lawyer and business manager. He is a wonderful man, albeit a little brief with words as most lawyers are, but he does check all his emails...and answers. Let him know that you have taken some photos of the Sligo area this past week and several Forum members feel they truly capture the beauty and specialness of the region, and you would like to share them with Leonard prior to his visit, if that might be possible. You can reach him at
rkory@rkmgment.com. It's worth the try!

I know your photos have inspired me! Looking forward to my time there, and especially will check out the Churchyard (and the coffee shop).
All the best,
Diana
ps..several of your concert pix are excellent too and from a perspective not seen in most other photos!

Can't offer you a ride (sorry

), BUT Donegal Airport to Donegal Town is one heck of a taxi ride! At least an hour's journey.... I would check to see if there's a bus from Dungloe (the nearest town to the airport) - If you PM me with info about where you're staying etc., I'll check locally to see what's possible.... and you'll probably fly over my house on your descent into the airport, so give me a wave!
