Brandon Books in Dingle are publishing a nice guidebook in the next few weeks entitled Yeats and Sligo (author Kevin Connolly, ISBN 9780863224195) which I think would be a good one for visitors to Sligo, gael agus gall, to have a look at, especially if they are intent on a crash course in Yeats.

Hi Carlowmike, nice venue the Garavogue, just on the river and very relaxing on the terrace there with a good pint. I'll also be in Sligo on Sunday for the horse racing so probably call in there for one or two!

Hi Carlowmike
Thank you so much for organising the venue for Sligo, the Garavogue looks like a good one.
I am really looking forward to the weekend. Please don't silence that bird of yours ...

Hi
just wanted to remind members who may have time to spare in Sligo and who want to deepen their knoweledge of Yeats that "Yeats International Summer School" will be running from July 24th to Aug 6th, with lots of different events happening. It will be so good to have Leonard here amongst us in the West of Ireland - the whole event has a touch of a Mid Summer's Night Dream about it!!!

Hi carlowmike. I know you said you were going to sligo some time soon and was just wondering if by any chance you could find out if there will be food stalls etc at the venue like there was at kilmainham. it worked really well in 08 and given this great outdoor venue i think it would really work here too. I'll try and find out from pod.ie and if i have any luck i'll post answers, but you do know you're now the official 'unofficial organizer ' for ireland !!

will be posted within the next two weeks.
I am meeting with some of the organizers next week in Sligo to obtain information

In the meantime we have one lady travelling from Germany who would appreciate a Home-hosting arrangment.
She is willing to provide Home-hosting in return for Leonard's Berlin Concert .

In regard to the difficulties (fiasco) experienced by some, including myself, in getting tickets at the pre-sale launch Ticketmaster have advised the following:
'This has been checked by our online & marketing department and there were no errors with our web site for this sale.
Any problems in attempting to book would have been an issue with the browser or computer
Customer Services Department
Ticketmaster Ireland'

They would say that. Though thankfully I'd no issues.
