I had thought it was return but on their site if you only book from Lissadell to Sligo its 11 E and same with the other direction.

I am glad to hear their is a meeting planned to sort out the priority coach to Lissadell vs the taxi drivers
as this doesn't seem fair that all the business goes to one company.
I see that the trip one way is 11E with Discover Sligo on the priority coaches.
I had thought it was return but on their site if you only book from Lissadell to Sligo its 11 E and same with the other direction.
Look forward to hearing what happens after the meeting.
Thanks Carlow Mike for keeping us posted...

The return fare via bus from Sligo to Lissadell is 11 euro.
People availing of the bus service after the Concert, (Lissadell to Sligo or hotels only) will still have to pay 11 euro as many extra buses have to be hired to deal with the extra number of people seeking transport following the concert.
A number of Bus Companies are involved, the service will be coordinated by discoversligo.

Happy 4th July.
Beautiful weather in Ireland today for Bob Dylan's outdoor standing concert in Limerick,
lets hope it is a good omen for Lissadell in 27 days time,

Thanks for the update Carlowmike. If any member has word on bus travel from Kilkenny to Sligo please let us know.
Email from shoreofneed who has lost her password to the Forum, (we can sort that out later)
:
We ( 5 of us) are thinking of hiring a 10 seater minibus from Kilkenny to Sligo, passing through Carlow, Portlaoise, Athlone towns and smaller towns along the way,
are there any other fans travelling from the above towns for pick up who would be willing to pay share of cost ?
Return journey Sunday morning.

Got the following email from Ticketmaster today.
A Priority Coach Service - Specially for You
We are all looking forward to the Westlife and Leonard Cohen concerts at Lissadell and we want to do our best to help you have a most enjoyable time.
To help minimise the possibility of traffic congestion near the concert venue, POD Promotions are working with Discover Sligo to provide a Priority Coach Service. This service, unique to Discover Sligo, will bring passengers direct to Lissadell House and return them to their hotel or other departure point with minimal delay after the concerts. It avoids having to use the coach and taxi drop off point and shuttle service provided for all other coaches at the nearby village of Carney. The Priority Coach Service is a specially arranged direct service, unique to Discover Sligo.
In order that we can allocate enough coaches in advance, we need to establish now how many concert-goers will require seats on Priority Coach service. Therefore, it is important that intending coach passengers book their Priority Coach Service seats in advance. This can be done today on-line by following the concert link at:
http://www.DiscoverSligo.com or by calling our office at 071 91 47488.
Book your seat on the Priority Coach Service now at DiscoverSligo.com

I am a retired taxi operator. It is important to taxi operators that they be allowed to carry passengers to their chosen destination at anytime. They provide a professional efficient and cheap means of travel to the Sligo concerts ( 5 euros per head for a group of 4 ).
I am sending this message to fans of Leonard Cohen to ask for support in the taxi drivers efforts to provide transport direct to the concerts during the July bank holiday weekend.
It is not fair to those attending the concerts that they have to take a taxi half way to Lissadell and then have to wait around for a hour or more for a shuttle bus and pay again to travel the remainder of the journey.
That is not a good or fair traffic plan. if a car can drive up and park within a hundred yards of the site , a taxi should be able to drop off passengers in the same area.also people should be able to exit the concert and hail a taxi if they so wish.
Some of the taxi drivers have indicated that they will block the roads leading to Lissadell if the service is curtailed, personally I do not support this plan but if they do this they would have the support of hundreds of taxi operators in the Sligo area.
This action would result in the only means of travel being by walking the roads or swimming in the Atlantic ocean to Lissadell.
They already have the support of the people of Sligo who want this event to run smoothly for visitors. If you wish to support their right to earn a living you can make your feelings known by emailing the Sligo Champion:

I was told about this action last week. The drivers are to meet with the Sligo council. Regarding roans question, I think it is good we know what is going on , better than reading about it in the papers later, maybe we can help resolve the dispute without taking sides. Carlowmike is up in Sligo this week , maybe he will have news for us on this, jeney.

We are going to a concert and are uncomfortable with being dragged into the local politics of Sligo and is this an appropriate message to be posted on a 'HELP' site?
Only our opinion
Best regards

Obviously Sligo is going to benefit from the concerts being held at Lissadell but it appears that there is a great deal of in- fighting going on and feel we should not get involved, after all we are showing our support by buying tickets for the concert, staying in hotels and spending money in restaurants and bars. We are not apologetic for not liking some posts on this forum.
Opinion voiced so no more from us.
Looking forward to a great weekend in Sligo
Roger and Anne
