Confetti - are you planning on attending these dates, and if so, have you spent money on travel and accomodation? If not, i'd humbly ask you to excuse those of us who are really quite worried that we are going to be unfairly hit financially by this potential cancellation/postponement, which all the signs right now are pointing to. Why would the webmaster of the French forum fabricate the "confidential" email he has supposedly seen that confirms our worst (well maybe not worst, Leonard staying healthy is of course the number one priority) fears? What has he to gain from that?

If AEG were upfront about whatever it is they are doing instead of telling us information is coming one day, then not appearing, then coming another day and still not appearing, there wouldn't be a need for any of these "stories", would there...

You have echoed my thoughts yet again - a case of great minds thinking alike - or does that make me sound conceited? My post on "confetti's" thoughts appeared one minute before yours.

;-)

All this talk of "remaining patient" is starting to make me irate. If AEG had kept their mouths shut and waited until they were ready to make whatever announcement it is they are making, or even made the announcement when they originally said they would, there would be none of this.

Before everybody storms the castle gates looking for AEG blood, you must realize that they essentially are an organization hired by Cohen and his management to arrange and promote his tour. Ultimately, Cohen and his management are in charge, from everything to to tour locations, venues, ticket prices, and any changes to the tour. Trust me, AEG does not dictate what Cohen does. Yes, it's unfortunate that many people here will suffer financial hardship due to a possible cancellation/postponement of the tour, but you must take into consideration that Cohen and his management are in agreement with these changes.

You are right, it would be an insult to his intelligence to assume that LC would not be aware of the financial implications for so many of us, and I'd be disappointed if he didn't personally apologise for this mess, if a cancellation/postponement is what is going to be announced.

Either way, it's looking increasingly like someone has screwed up somewhere, and said someone will have a lot of explaining to do if this tour is cancelled or postponed.

I haven't suggested it would only be LC's fault. Far from it.

Maybe we should all bombard AEG with emails NOW, demanding that if there is any information pertaining to Leonard, new albums, tours, personnel changes, band preferences for sandwiches or anything else they inform us. AEG's contact details outlined on previous page.

What if LC decided to run up the hills again? Too much touring, too much noise after the grammies... Not at all an Zen-like mess. 8)

I wonder if it's anything to do with the event insurers. The amount involved for tours like this must be pretty massive. When you think how much must have been paid out for the Michael Jackson shows, perhaps the people who insure the event are now making huge demands (in the light of LC's age) and negotiations are still ongoing.

The French LC forum webmaster stated in his post that himself, and Jarkko, have already repeatedly tried to find out more details about whatever this is about and have not received replies. I'm sure he would have conveyed the sentiments expressed by many of us here already, so I suspect a few emails from irate fans will achieve nothing whatsoever :(

And like I said, the only thing to come from the French webmaster fabricating this stuff is that he is made to look like a complete and utter fool, so I just don't see why he would do that.

He has posted again actually.

That said, why harp to repel the dates and in the utmost secrecy?
I do not know .... I advance a hypothesis which is the fruit of my imagination ....

After all, who says that SC does not undergo a minor operation planned by doctors in March?
It would be a plausible explanation.
The fact that he then resumes the tour (and in distant countries) is frankly a good sign for his health, it proves that if something is really inconsequential.

Having established and was merely an idea, why not warn the public once and for all?
Here, it is beyond me!
This morning, my friend Jarkko repeated to me that even Robert (the manager of SC) can do nothing, everything is in the hands of tour manager (AEG Live, London).
And one more day without information ..... sad

I'm out of the loop - why does Leonard's tour have to have anything to do with AEG?
They are the organisers.
Ok, but why them? This isn't the first schedule they've managed to disorganize so I'm wondering whether it's to late to find better bedfellows (assuming all is well with Leonard). Timing is almost everything, and they're keeping people waiting.
Whilst it pains me to defend a megacorp like AEG, in this instance we can thank them for (a) persuading Leonard back onto the road in the first place, (b) two years of by and large smoothly managed/organised/communicated LC concerts, a two day postponment in Denver notwithstanding, (c) communicating things via jarkko to this forum first, and (d) providing special pre-sales of good seats for most concerts to members of this forum.

None of this excuses the current situation and likely outcome, of course, but they have been pretty good to us up until now.

Well they may not dictate what Leonard does, but I wonder whether the logistics are as clear cut as you outline. While I agree (and have been guilty of it) that bloodlust is premature, AEG can make things difficult along the way. Pressure comes in many forms. They do own many venues. But again, until we know for sure, as you say, best not to speculate.

I'm going for a walk. See you all later.
