If this (re-arrangement/cancellation) does prove to be the case maybe all Forum members should email AEG to express their disgust at the manner in which fans have been treated and the way the tour organisers have betrayed Leonard Cohen.

In the UK there might be the possibility of claiming through the small claims court for breach of contract, although I bet there is something in the small print which gets AEG and their agents out of the mess they have themselves created.

Re: What is going on ?
Absolutely. It might even work. When a TV company rescheduled a football match at very short notice recently, the team I support negotiated with the relevant train company and got them to agree to give full refunds to all fans who had already bought unrefundable train tickets for the original date of the game. Perhaps we can impress upon AEG to meet with Eurostar and discuss a similar arrangement for we fans who will be out of pocket due to this expected postponement. It would be harder when it comes to unrefundable hotels or flights, because of all the many different companies involved. But even if it's just about Eurostar tickets - which seems to be affecting a lot of people on this forum judging by the comments - surely AEG have a moral obligation to at least try and get us refunds.osmachar wrote:Maybe forum members should send them their expenses too - there's an idea...davidrichards wrote:Mydoglorca

Would this be the same AEG that planned those ridiculously strenuous 50 concerts on a very tight schedule in London for Michael Jackson?
I'm out of the loop - why does Leonard's tour have to have anything to do with AEG?

Re: What is going on ?
A rescheduled tour is no good to me. Maybe AEG would like to pay for my hotels in France & my train fares which are obviously booked by now. A week in northern France in March without the concerts is no good to me.

Ok, but why them? This isn't the first schedule they've managed to disorganize so I'm wondering whether it's to late to find better bedfellows (assuming all is well with Leonard). Timing is almost everything, and they're keeping people waiting.osmachar wrote:They are the organisers.Patrycja wrote:...

This is a varied forum with something for everyone and multiple functions ! ( even ' politics' inspite ot the moderator's attempts to discourage this )something crazy wrote:Another member not affected by the 'announcement'...?da2008 wrote:22 pages and counting... So is this the time our good old leonardcohenforum.com turns into what all the other internet message boards are?
Whereas THIS thread is not as intellectually challenging / inspiring as some others it is undeniably popular . Now 24 pages and counting .
This thread is mainly , i guess , about peer support and that is i think a forum function that we are blessed to have

It's not normally in my nature to defend organisations like AEG ... but don't we have Rob Hallett of AEG to thank for persuading Leonard to go back on the road in the first place?Patrycja wrote:

Re: What is going on ?
With a thought to my previous "comments" I logged on to AEG's website - strangely no mention of telephone numbers or email addresses. However you can "track them down" via the O2 website. Should the worst happen with regard to the supposedly forthcoming tour then emails expressing disgust can be sent to:
AEG Europe UK head office
The Studio, The O2, London, SE10 0DX
Tel: 020 8463 2300
Fax: 020 8463 2301
Email: info@aegworldwide.co.uk
I appreciate that this could be a case of jumping the gun but given all of the comments in the past 20+ pages should the tour be cancelled/re-arranged/re-structured or however AEG try to dress it up, then mass emails arriving from Forum members may not achieve a re-think on their part but it would alert them to the disgust felt by members regarding the way both they and Leonard Cohen have been treated. If it does not achieve even an apology copies of the emails could be sent to Leonard's personal management team!

Re: What is going on ?
do you not think everyone is over-reacting? You have no idea what is going on, you are making up your own stories and then acting on them, for goodness sake, wait until you find out.

Re: What is going on ?
I've been trying to hold off on speculation, as I am not planning on seeing any shows this year (unless he comes back to the US, which I doubt). But I'm really on pins and needles now! Such suspense! I really hope it has something to do with an album, but that's the only thing I've wanted since 2007. I would rather him put out an album then touring endlessly, as great as it is. Maybe he's secretly been in the studio this whole time!

Re: What is going on ?
A fair point, Wendy, so thanks to Rob Hallett, but it doesn't take AEG off the hook for this latest round of fan irritation. But I'm getting ahead of myself. We do not, in fact, know yet what the hold up is. When we do (should the situation call for it) we can present a unified voice that'll bring down walls.Mabeanie1 wrote:It's not normally in my nature to defend organisations like AEG ... but don't we have Rob Hallett of AEG to thank for persuading Leonard to go back on the road in the first place?Patrycja wrote:

Re: What is going on ?
Confetti, you could well be correct but it could all very easily be sorted out. AEG could say what is going on. If there had been no announcement at all then no one would be speculating, but without anything definitive it is inevitable that there will be speculation and AEG should be ashamed of treating "their customers" in that way. It is certainly something that Leonard would not approve of.
