Fljotsdale, the choice of being hidden behind female voices has always been Leonard's choice and he often tolds that it was the only way he can accept his own voice.

He might think he isn't a singer, but he is - and
I don't like his voice being buried behind female singers... *sulk*
Btw - love the lines in your sig. It's one of my very favourite Leonard songs.

What about memory and ability to retain the words and melody to a song? Also hearing. These , sadly, are affected by age and would make performance so much more difficult.
When is he touring??

Hi everyone,
When we were in New York for the Event, we met Perla and the question was posed whether or not Leonard would go on tour in the future. Perla replied, quite adamantly, that Leonard would never tour again. Obviously he has made this decision known.
I would love to see him live, as I have never had this opportunity. I am resigned to the fact that yes, he is 72 years old and that age can be a factor in a less-than-polished performance.
It would be amazing if there was a tribute event organized where a bunch of musicians would come together and perform Leonard's songs, and then he could take the mike for a handful of songs at the very end.
I am hopeful that we will be able to see him live in the New Year. I don't think that fans are expecting perfection. We just would like to see him live, even if he only played a couple of songs.
Cheers,
Natalie

The man will decide. We'd all love to see him but most of us would prefer to hear him and recordings make that possible. Nice one Tony!

LizT:
I agree w/you.
I've seen Leonard perform on stage, 3 times (in The Day). I was always intrigued watching his backup singers & their interaction with him ... and his intrinsic awareness of them.
"Interwoven" is expressively accurate in discribing the style that he and his girls combine to create a special sensual & personal sound & feeling.

Hi JZ ~
I have had the immense pleasure of seeing Leonard in person only twice, on consecutive nights in Chicago back in the mid-70s... and numerous times in videos, with exquisite close-ups of him and his backing women of song. Their "intrinsic awareness" of each other couldn't be better said... along with "create a special sensual & personal sound & feeling"... and visual

. The results ache with beauty.

Are you sure it was Leonard you saw in 2003

He has not performed in any concert in London since 1993 as far as we know.
