Cancer report from Leonard's last interview; head trauma; coma; leukemia. There are only 4 people whose words I will trust on this issue - Adam's or reports from Adam through Jarkko, Kezban, or Marie. Some woman who supposedly knew him well... Means nothing to me.

I know that those who love Leonard would like to know the details of his death, if someone in the family would be kind enough to share this. Perhaps Adam will understand that we would appreciate knowing the details. Where he fell, who found him, etc. I don't feel this is disrespectful at all. He is family to us.

A fall itself is rumour until Adam, Kezban, Jarkko, or Marie speak. The only trusted sources.
Choice to share or not is up to Adam and the others closest... and possibly even Leonard. Yes, of course, who doesn't wonder .. The 'right' to know lies on the other side of that opaque curtsin.

I'm sure we all dislike these rumours about the exact circumstances of the death , at least one of which we know to be untrue.
A clear account from trusted sources of what happened is probably the only way to stop the rumours , but if those close to leonard want to keep this private that has to be fine with all of us here.
The magic of leonard was in part how we all felt close to him, or at least his work. But he was a private man and only a few were really close to him.

I find this all this probing and questioning somewhat unsavoury and disrespectful. This is a private matter and people are still grieving (and also celebrating Leonards life). Leonards wishes and that of his family should be fully respected.
It is in my opinion unnecessary and unless his close family want to disclose matters should be left in quiet contemplation, especially at the moment.
I thank Jarkko for his dignified clarification.

Unspoken Words, I agree. There are some things that we don't need to know, and the family deserve a bit more respect at this time, than to have people speculating on aspects of Leonard's health.

This is the most private of information ever.
Whatever agreements between Leonard and his family; and whatever choices they make are theirs and theirs alone . . . their family, their lives.
The woman who so inappropriately spoke crossed a sacred line, even had she spoken the truth. Information of this nature would absolutely not be hers to share.

Agreeing totally about privacy and how public speculation is to be discouraged, including speculation on a dedicated forum such as this.
However , i am sure we have all thought about how and why , in what way Leonard left us , and we will all have our speculative ideas. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that , nor discussing it with friends and family.
We are all grieving , and making our own sense of the death is an important part of that . It is inevitable and unavoidable , infact unhealthy to try to avoid any questions that come up internally.
Personally i hope that Leonard's family will eventually give more information. Adam Cohen has already kindly given information about some aspects of the death and burial, as well as his own feelings of loss.
When you don't know how someone died , it tends to make the grieving harder to get through, though there's still plenty of processing to be getting on with.
We all need to get through the loss, and then continue celebrating the life.
