Thank you for that, Albert. I will play it many times to relive it and register the emotion on Leonard's face. I was there and singing at the top of my voice. I returned to Dublin after the same thing happened a year ago at Kilmainham. It was unforgettable on both occasions. The concert at The O2 on 11 September was pure unadulterated perfection. I don’t rightly know if it’s a new one, or something from the Cohen Crypts, but the song Leonard and the band have been rehearsing made its Old Ideas debut. A call went out on the radio during the break: expect Got a Little Secret (working title?) to make an appearance after Chelsea Hotel. The heads-up stood, and the song was presented to a receptive audience. For the second night running, a surprise song-shift caused a shimmy of shame with the ‘correct’ guitar; The Night Comes On was skipped over, causing me to skip back and forth to attain correctness for The Partisan. The rest was the usual plain sailing and Mitch’s Fender Tele was handed over thusly: “Your egg whisk, my lord.”
